Jeffrey Epstein’s will has been filed in the US Virgin Islands, and it shows that he signed it Aug. 8 — two days before he hanged himself in his Manhattan jail cell, according to court papers exclusively obtained by The Post on Monday.
The multimillionaire convicted pedophile was worth $577,672,654, or about $18 million more than he previously stated in court papers when futilely trying to land bail on federal sex-trafficking charges, the new documents show.
The former hedge-fund manager put all of his holdings in a trust, called The 1953 Trust in court papers, after the year he was born.
The 21-page filing includes a copy of Epstein’s death certificate from Aug. 15, five days after his suicide — and lists “Immediate Cause: Pending Further Study.” The city Medical Examiner’s Office has since ruled that he killed himself.

And a reason to fight a finding of suicide, since that nullifies any life insurance AND could mean he wasn’t mentally competent to fill out a will.

It’s a time tested tactic to ridicule your ideological opponents. I notice you ridicule those who oppose Epstein rather than simply correct the record where you think they’re wrong. Do you defend or condemn Epstein?
I doubt that a guy worth a half billion had significant life insurance. And, who would fight the will? Perhaps the brother, but I’d think it would also depend on who the beneficiaries of the trust were.
He knew he was a dead man walking.
If he struck a will two days before his suicide, I see a STRONG CASE his estate will be challenged on grounds he was not mentally fit.
Does anyone knows how those trusts work?
1) Who will run the trust? Is the Trustee a Law firm, Corporation, or can it be a person?
2) What are the usual objects of the Trust? Can it be set up to fight Global warming, fund the DNC, or build/run orphanages?
A trust can be administered by an individual.
The trust holds property for the benefit of benificiaries, usually individuals. But, it could funnel assets to some goal oriented foundation. On the other hand, that could also have been done directly by the will.
Without the text of the trust, it’s hard to guess where the estate will go.
Two possibilities: Epstein feared for his life after the first attack that was called a suicide attempt. Or he was getting his affairs in order before committing suicide.
I find it amazing that a person with such immense wealth did not already have a will in place.
If it's a normal pour-over, those assets will be liquidated and the proceeds added to the trust.
