Actually it is a great idea. Keeping Greenland costs Denmark more than $500 million annually. About 3/10ths of 1 percent of the Danish government budget. By that standard the U.S. should be looking to sell off most of our states.

Isn’t that always the seller’s first move in the sales process? It's generally also the response to an unsolicited offer to buy something the owner does not and has never had any intention of selling.

Hardly. If you're not supporting yourself, Greenland. You're for sale. South Carolina receives $7.87 in federal funding for every dollar they send to Washington. By your standard then we should sell them.

South Carolina receives $7.87 in federal funding for every dollar they send to Washington. By your standard then we should sell them. Is Greenland a co-equal state in a Republic? More appropriately, by my standards we should sell, or better liberate Peurto Rico. How many times have they declined statehood?

By your standard we would sell Puerto Rico; Denmark is giving Greenland independence. Yet. So how would Puerto Rico feel if we sold them to, say, China?
