Full title: Portland police confiscate weapons and make multiple arrests in protests between antifa and far-right groups.
Portland, Oregon, authorities confiscated bear spray, shields, metal poles and other weapons and made multiple arrests during protests involving far-right groups and antifa in the city on Saturday.
Nearly 1,000 police officers were sent to provide security and monitor the protests organized by the far-right group Proud Boys in downtown Portland. Police set up barricades and shut down streets and bridges to quell tensions between the opposing groups.
Demonstrators gathered on both sides of the Williamette River, with some Proud Boys members waving flags and wearing body armor and helmets. Antifa supporters wore their black-clad gear with masks covering most of their faces.
Police reportedly seized the flag poles, deeming the objects as weapons, to the dismay of protesters. Officers also moved through the crowds while saying over a loudspeaker that demonstrators would be arrested for stepping into the streets because the rallies were not officially approved.

The police were there to protect Antifa. Why else were they there? When Antifa attacks conservatives the police never interfere. The cops were only there today to protect the Antifa crowd.
Far right? Mmmmmm, no, mostly not. Being a patriotic American who stands up to vermin like Antifa is not far-right in my book.

I’m beginning to think I’m a dreamer if it was not for the public I meet at work. There are tons of kind and caring people caring out there, granted some clueless.
What is illegal about wearing body armor and having a shield?
Obviously it is illegal to cover your face and have weapons.
My take also.
They protected Antifa again.
I would say nothing. If the police did take something from Antifa, all the Antifa members had to do was go to the back of the Police Station and they would give them back.
