No, its not defeatism. What many here are doing is expressing a decline in confidence in our government which is totally justifiable in my opinion. They are merely stating what should be clearly obvious. We have serious corruption problems and they’re worsening by the day. We need people to speak up about the abuses, malfeasance and criminality and not be polyannaish.

Nero was so outrageous in his open flaunting of law, morals and convention that nobody could or would legally contain him. He literally burned down Rome, while we let these two burn down our country.
In the USA those with legitimate authority are so compromised by the “control files” the Clinton’s spent the last 40 years accumulating on everyone of consequence or potential consequence in the USA that at this point it is highly probable the only justice they ever will see will be Divine.
Unfortunately the retention of America’s place in the world, as well as upon America’s claims on the worlds’ debt markets, is dependent upon a demonstration to the world we remain a nation of laws with the capacity to legitimately prosecute gangsters and grifters. Absent that capacity, life is very liable to become very medieval, very quickly here in the USA.
