The socialists who took over Russia also implemented red flag laws. National socialists, too.

Let me elaborate - I do vote, just not for gun grabbers. There are also usually congressional ballots with the presidential.

Exactly... There is a reason they want to prevent good people from having guns and it’s because they intend to oppress those who oppose their totalitarianism with all the viciousness they leveled at Trump, Trump’s associates, Palin, her family, Down syndrome kids, Limbaugh, D’Souza, Prager, the pizza restauranteers, Chick Filet, pro-lifers, cake bakers, conservative actors, conservative churches, farmers, ranchers, hunters and practicing Jews ...using not just lawfare, not just the media, but also their packs of wild street thugs. They WANT a civil war but they want to improve their chances by disarming their opponents as much as they can in advance of it.

Uh, what part of “I might just sit out 2020” did I get wrong?

Had a bad experience which is somewhat relevant. Some wacko got mad at me for kicking his behind in an online game and called my local police and told them I was suicidal. Cops show up at the door. Apparently something about the way I reacted bothered them (Gee, could it have been the shock of cops showing up unannounced?), so they tell me I have no choice and we have to go to the hospital. Six hours of time in a tiny room later, I’m finally let go. The young woman who had to decide whether to let me go or hold me for the typical 72 hours was VERY reluctant to let me go despite the fact that I had no history and even correctly guessed who had called in the report. If I hadn’t been 100% on my game, I have no doubt I’d have lost at least three days of my liberty based on a total lie. And, of course, if he said I was homicidal, SWAT might have shown up, and there’s a chance I’d be dead. It can happen to any of us, folks.

You are absolutely right about this. I had an uncle who was a paraplegic since a car accident in high school, when the docs told his folks he probably would not live more than a few years. But he made it, though he was still the wild teen who got in the car wreck for a while, angry at God and the world, before he learned better.

He studied architecture, became self employed , designed homes and landscapes, and later started an irrigation company. He drove a car outfitted so he could apply the brakes from the steering column, etc. He painted his own ceilings using a brush and roller attached to a very long pole. He mowed his yard with a push mower that he swung in big arcs as far as he could reach before moving and doing it again. His arms were muscled like a weight lifter's. He set an awesome example of self reliance even though there were occasional times we'd get a call from him from a phone on the wall of his garage when his chair would slip away from him on ice and down the driveway. He was our substitute grandpa as we grew up.

He took care of a parent with dementia, and raised the daughter of a wayward sister as his own- and she was a handful when she first arrived. He never even got a handicapped sticker for his car because he felt it should be for people who desperately needed it. In fact the one time he had a very bad day and needed an item at a store for his mom but it was raining, he parked in a handicapped spot so he could get into his chair and in and out of the store without getting totally soaked...and got a ticket. He rolled into court in his chair, made his case, lost, and paid the ticket.

While he was much loved by many people in his neighborhood, and was great with kids, there was always some jackass out there who thinks they know better than the person with the handicap, and there was always some arsehole who just doesn't like to be around handicapped people, and because he was a tough 'substitute dad' for his niece, other kids he considered trouble and wouldn't allow the niece to have anything to do with would vandalize his house, etc. So he kept something for defense. Eventually she straightened out..her mother took much longer.

But one day someone reported him to authorities, claiming he couldn't take care of himself. Cops showed up at his door and he answered, thinking there had been some emergency in the neighborhood and they were asking around. To his surprise, they told him the same crap they told you. He was humiliated and terrified when he was given no choice in the matter and demanded time to call us...we were several states away. My mom talked with the police ...she'd just talked to him a few days before, but their hands were tied, they told her the house looked fine (he was a near freak in fact), fridge had food, nothing seemed wrong, but they had orders. We didn't have much money and the timing could not have been worse, but we scrounged up enough to send mom down there to help and support him because this humiliation turned him from Mr. Confident to Mr. Betrayed and he didn't know who he could trust because they refused to tell him who did it or why the state would assume the person who did it would be in a position to 'know' anything about him or his conditions. And there wasn't anything wrong, of course. If there had been anything he needed he would have called us anyway.

It was a colossal waste of time and money for him, us and the government... and because the scumbag who did it remained anonymous, it negatively impacted almost every relationship he had with people...he could never trust friends or family or police like before, except for us and two neighbors who were solidly in his camp. His hair turned white as snow not long after that...and he was never as easy going with people. It spoiled relations with neighbors who may not have had anything to do with it, though we narrowed it down to 2 possibilities. Either his sister whose kid he raised...she had designs on inheriting something from their mother that he had, or a cold neighbor who had his own mental issues. We found out later she had been making inquiries about his house, etc., around that time.

The most awful thing about the whole affair is that never in my life had my uncle showed the least bit of fear. He was a rock of stability and a calm harbor in any storm and the most civic minded citizen of any. And then he was betrayed by a liar.

Never forget that leftists are all liars when it comes to power. Give them any power and they will abuse it to the maximum and only one thing stands in their way and it isn’t fear of government, it is the fear we will unite and stop taking their abuse.

Sitting out for the presidential ticket. Don’t know what else is on the ballot yet.
