“How’s that gun control thing working out in Chicago?”
Even at 10-12 years old we had no problem getting guns/handguns in my Chicago neighborhood. I remember shooting a .38 special in a garage with friends - at one of those old rotisserie grills. Stupidity doesn’t even begin to describe it, but when you are that age, unsupervised, and in a place where you can find inappropriate things to do, you often will.
My point is just that it’s a different culture in the places in Chicago where these shootings are happening. That culture has to change, and no laws are going to make things markedly better until that happens.
