A perfect example of why every county in the US needs to elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff in their county. So when the fascist state comes along and tries crap like this, they are met by a sheriff who has the legal and armed muscle to confront them.

I live in Maine, and this is the first I’ve heard of this story.
That county, and pretty much all sixteen counties in Maine have pro-2nd amendment, Constitutional sheriffs.
When little Mikey Bloomturd funded a ballot initiative in Maine in November 2016 that would have banned the private sale of firearms, many police chiefs in Maine did commercials, in uniform, supporting Bloomturd’s measure.
Most if not all of Maine’s sheriff’s also did commercials on TV urging voters to vote “No on 3,” against Bloomturd’s measure.
Bloomturd lost.....the voters refused to ban the private sale of guns in Maine.
