The United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday.
In a match against the Netherlands, the USWNT defeated the Netherlands with a 2-0 victory. The first goal, as a penalty goal, was scored by co-captain Megan Rapinoe and the second by Rose Lavelle.
This is the fourth time that the USWNT won the Women’s World Cup, solidifying the U.S.’s position as the country with the most Women’s World Cup victories. The USWNT also became defending champions as it has won in 1991, 1999, 2015, and now 2019.
Before the match started, Rapinoe protested again. During the Star Spangled Banner, she refused to sing and refused to place her hand over her heart, as she had done in previous Women's World Cup matches.
Even though they are set to be invited to the White House, Rapinoe stated multiple times in the past that she would not be visiting the White House if the USWNT team wins and she added, “I suspect not many, if any, of the other players [would attend the visit.]”
However, she did state that she would visit Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for a tour of the House of Representatives.

My understanding is that when homosexuals murder their partners (and this happens more than with normal people), they often exhibit unbelievable violence toward their former loved one.

Even for Women?
I’ve heard their next push is for higher pay for women’s soccer players. To do that they need to increase revenue by increasing the fan base. I don’t see how team USA’s captain displaying her contempt for the USA and alienating a good portion of the country helps.

Fyi for what its worth from USA Today High School Sports
As noted by CBS Soccer, the U.S. women prepared for a pair of friendly matches against Russia with a scrimmage against the U-15 academy squad for MLS club FC Dallas. Final score? Five-to-two … FC Dallas.
To be fair, it was just a scrimmage, which means the U.S. women were working on team chemistry and on pitch alignment and strategy more than they were focused on results. Still, a three-goal victory by a bunch of teenage boys (high school freshmen at the oldest) against the world’s best women is no small accomplishment.
Love it.
