Joe Biden continues to dig holes for himself with gaffes, even when he means well.
During a campaign fundraiser in Seattle on Saturday, the former vice president tried to illustrate how far the United States has come when it comes to the treatment of the LGBT community, but he apparently missed the mark.
Biden claimed that just five years ago, it would have been acceptable for a businessman to make fun of a gay waiter, the Washington Examiner reported. Those in attendance at the event, which took place at the home of public relations executive and gay rights activist Roger Nyhus, made it clear that was not the case - at least not in their city.
Not in Seattle! people called out, claiming that homophobic comments would not have been condoned in 2014.
The point of Bidens remarks, delivered as the LGBT community and their allies celebrated Pride Weekend, was that the United States has made progress. He said the hypothetical businessman he spoke of would not be invited back today.
Biden also spoke about how he supported same-sex marriage when he was vice president, according to the Seattle Times, telling White House officials that the American people were in favor of this, even if leadership was lagging behind on the issue.
This latest misstep comes soon after Biden made tried to rehabilitate his image when it comes to race relations, only to be called out by opponent Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.
"That kid wearing a hoodie may very well be the next poet laureate and not a gangbanger," Biden said, illustrating the dangers of stereotyping while invoking the image of Trayvon Martin, a black teen who was shot in 2012.
Booker was not satisfied with how Biden made his point.

You can’t go to an Olive Garden without seeing a gay waiter with a slight lisp. And I’m not joking. - Uncle Joe
This happens so often Joe is now wearing chocolate flavored shoes.

Blacks and women were the worst tippers. Homosexuals were actually good tippers so I always tried to give them excellent service when I was a waiter, knowing it would be rewarded. Good service was wasted on blacks and straight liberal women. If you wonder how I knew, don’t ever assume your waiter isn’t listening to your conversation.
I will be in Seattle at the end of the month. I will undoubtedly be in a restaurant at some point while there. If I happen to have a gay waiter, I will likely make fun of him/her/it if the gaydom is flaunted, though I will do so privately.
Yes, what we're seeing here is the sort of double standard that forgives a Clinton's lies about black churches burning or a Harris's lies about the terrible segregation in California high schools in the 1980's, but not a much smaller bit of exaggeration by Gropin' Joe. The Dems want radical bomb-throwers and they want them now.
I retain my right to make fun of a gay waiter.
[[Wow...I was a waiter a quarter of a century ago and it wasnt acceptable.]]
Huh? a !/4 century ago i was in food industry too- and gays kept to themselves because they knew they would be harrassed if they made an issue of their sickness- and Heck we put in our year books for ‘dislikes’ Gays- homos- queers etc- and they printed it- they stopped when I was a senior- but the kids all got around it by saying for dislikes’ ‘poofters’ fruits’ twinkle toes- etc- everyone knew what that meant- and the printers printed it for many years-
out on the streets- deriding queers was standard business of the day- still is- when you listen to the kids talking today- in certain groups- even online games they still do-
LOL! Isn’t it great when some bizarre meme exactly matches a headline?
I just hope he doesnt crash and burn too fast. I want the radical leftists (almost all the others) to have a long hard slog getting rid of him.
Joe, your going to need to make a homo porno. Buttplug on top to satisfy your base.
We’ll see!
This remark reminds of the dumb remark he made about Indians who own convenience stores. He has a really cliched mind.
Mom says the truckers were good tippers.
Haha. Yep.
Google image search is our friend.
Well, not really. But you get my point.
Pretty sure Buttplug is a bottom
