'Lois Lane' Comic Mirrors Real-World Migrant Crisis
The Hollywood Reporter ^ | July 28, 2019 | Graeme McMillan

Posted on 06/29/2019 1:24:46 PM PDT by Bratch

DC's new series launches next week.

Superman is far from the only member of the Kent household who crusades for truth, justice and the American way. Sometimes, Lois Lane goes for bigger targets (and hits harder) than her superpowered husband, as Heat Vision’s exclusive preview of next week’s debut for Lois’ new solo comic book series makes clear.

The new 12-issue Lois Lane series by Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins sees the most iconic reporter in comic books — not to mention the most fearless — do what she does best: Search out the truth behind a story that, as can be seen below, doesn’t feel too removed from certain current events in the real world, in which a debate is raging about the U.S.' treatment and incarceration of migrants crossing the border.

Lois Lane is part of an expansion of DC’s Superman line of comic books; later in the month, the publisher will launch a 12-part Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen series by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber, while Superman and Action Comics writer Brian Michael Bendis has recently launched the six-issue Event Leviathan series — in which Lois also plays a leading role — spinning out of Superman-related storylines.

The series launches in comic stores and digitally July 3. Read on for a glimpse at Lois’ latest adversaries.

A real Superman would be using his super powers to turn back the barbarian invaders.

That’s just downright putrid.

Not bad for comic book art, though.

I thought good liberals don’t say “American way” any more? Is this for real? I thought in a recent Superman movie, someone said “truth, justice, and all that stuff”, instead of “America way”, because the lunatic liberal fringe would be offended by “American way”.

I never saw the movie, just what I heard, that “American Way” was deleted.

Lois Lane comics were actually a big deal during the Silver Age. Lois herself was less unpleasant in those days, though generally a nuisance. Supes should stick with Lana Lang.

It can be used to misreprent the American Way. E.G. , Norman Lear's "People for the American Way".

Just what I need: overbearing, bullsh!t propaganda. Is there any (movie, novel, comic book, TV show, music, festival, ballet, opera, musical, play) that I can enjoy without being preached to about (gays, trannies, minorities, illegals, dykes, poor people, evil Orange Man, evil white man)?

I may have that one in the basement.

Or maybe Lois and Lana were always fighting over Superman.

Today’s MSM reporter searching out the truth...LOL! LOL!

They couldn’t find the truth if it were doing backstrokes atop their Starbuck’s Caramel Mocha Peppermint SJW Latte Grande!

Yes, and right now my dad just turned it on. Coincidence!

It is not the beautiful movie that the incomparable Chris Reeve was in, where he DID state American Way.

I am so sick of all the unseemly comic movies and TV shows now. Drawing in children when they are SO inappropriate. Sex everywhere, cynicism regarding good in society, homosexual characters, darkness and ugliness. No true heroes. COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE. This is what they push on our kids and suck them in, either because it’s supposed to be kid stuff or animated.

In answer to your question: No. That's why the wife and I watch old movies from when Hollywood was patriotic.

I wouldn’t worry about this particular bit of mindless propaganda. Few people are gonna buy this booklet of crap. Young men are the comic book purchasers in America, and they will not readily identify with a crusading female and her “let’s allow illegal immigrants” message.

I think in Smallville, Clark says “Truth Justice and Other Stuff”.

It was probably less PC than most but it did have an episode which was nothing less than an hour long illegal alien advertisement.

Oh yes, every scientist, Dr, judge, and top person in their field was Black. Well not every one but close.
