Gender dysphoria is what the parent suffering from MSBP is getting the kid to experience. It’s child abuse, just like having a vegan cat is animal abuse.

When the child is pre-adolescent, I agree it's most likely one or both of the parents living out their own fantasy. If it's an adolescent, studies show that the child's friends are often a primary factor. But, for those adults who think they're “in the wrong body” for years on end, it's a failure to adjust to their own biology: gender dysphoria. Yes, let us be wary and pro-active against this silly but destructive trend of pushing kids to maim themselves and enter into a delusional self-destructive fantasy, and we must insist that, no, we are not going to pretend either.
