Mondale's beat-down in 1984 says otherwise. That's when after that ass-kicking, the Democrats co-opted conservative ideals and made them into their own. Of course it's BS, but Dems' focus is on winning. A hard left Dem isn't going to be the nominee. You heard it here first.
Their lunatic base is going to vote Democrat no matter what, so the plan is to peel away Trump supporters and get the Never Trumpers and GOP establishment into the fold. Someone like Tim Ryan is scary. He's from a swing state, he's only 45 years old, and he's bucked most of the far-left Democrat platform. I predict he or Hickenlooper will be the nominee.
