There’s a viral video making its way around Twitter this weekend that shows NFL star QB Can Newtown offering a man $1500 for his seat that has more legroom with the unidentified man turning down the generous offer. Have a watch:

My plans involve getting where I’m going by a certain date and time, so I wouldn’t have sold it to a white guy either!
Well yeah. Cam’s money is obviously not welcome to this person. Perhaps the person obtained the seat because they wanted the extra leg room. Seems like a simple concept. Unless he was wearing a “cotton” shirt. Oh noes!!!!!
At this point, I think racism is to be expected by all parties. I just shrug and say that’s the world they made. I no longer condemn racism. Why condemn reality?

LOL! Yeah someone could have edited out the parts that didn’t really go with the story. But, it’s Monday.
You have to pay extra for those seats, so the original guy who was sitting there went out of his way to book that seat. It is not clear how tall the guy was. I am 6’5” and almost always pay extra for the legroom. If my wife is with me, then I have to pay for one for her as well. If some guy wanted to buy my seat, it would depend on how bad his seat was, and how long the flight was and how bad I needed the money. It would have nothing to do with the fact that the guy looked like a black pimp.
Never impressed by Cam Newton, just another Donovan McNabb.
Times like this I’d like to say something spicy, but cannot.
Screeching racism along with white privilege is dead to me and many, many others.

There are multiple seats on airplanes with extra leg room. Why was Cam bullying this guy? Did no one else take him up on the offer?
For a one hour flight I would have taken him up on it. But I want cash money. No checks. No Venmo.
For a flight across the pond there is no way I would give up my seat for $1500.
