Even with non-stop teaching/parenting, I still see public school taught kids with conservative, loving, caring and involved parents, who’ve turned out far more liberal than you would expect.
They are fed leftist tripe day in, day out. Then, they go away to liberal colleges. It’s getting harder and harder with all of the leftist teachers/admin that have these kids for the majority of their day.
They see their peers on social media actually supporting and believing morons like AOC. I see millennials - conservatives - who don’t like to talk politics or social issues, in public....for fear of rocking boats, etc. They’re fine with remaining quiet about things they see - and don’t believe in, or stand for - rather than speak up. It’s like the left has shut down opposing views.
Again....I support homeschooling for those who have the ability. Why turn your kids over to strangers that (at least MOST of them) have NOTHING in common with your core values?

Re home schooling...if the parents aren't doing what must be done, how can one be sure that they'll actually do well with home schooling? And not everyone, whether they will acknowledge it or not,is not fit to teach any level of school; even with prepared stuff from books or on line programs!
I DID say that private schools work better, with the caveat of having to check them out carefully.
Long, long, looooooooooooooooooong ago, I toyed with home schooling long before it was a "thing", but got talked out of it. Yes, we sent the progeny to privates schools from Pre-K through college. Did THAT stop me from "teaching"/brainwashing at home and correcting some stuff that was said/unsaid at school? HELL NO!
By the time college came along, the progeny was SO inculcated with facts, how to think, etc., that at 18 I was getting calls complaining about idiot kids, rotten lefty profs,etc., who the progeny saw through immediately and disgusted.
We're all now working on the Grand, who yes, goes to a private school ( there's a bit COMMIE CORE stuff, but called something else ) that is pretty much a Conservative one.
Even so, it's a never ending process and one which many Conservative parents are sadly NOT doing/not doing well enough.
OTOH...there are some kids who you can't "train",no matter how hard you try.
