Sure, I can give you that, and China is still more repressive police state than US. But we are way higher than Western Europe and the anglophone nations.
It’s the war on drugs BS mostly and heavy penalties for white collar “crime”. Elites get a pass.
Western Europe is significantly more monocultural. They’re working on changing that.
Japan is much more harsh on criminals, has very little crime.
Europe is way too lenient for violent crimes and murders imo.
