Mrs. VanShuyten had to pass a health exam before she could come here, legally.

Oh, and a criminal background check, too.

Oh, and she was interviewed by the embassy visa office to check her “fitness”.

Oh, and I had to sign a statement that she was my financial responsibility and would receive no government support payments.

Oh, and we had to pay for all the paperwork, checks, and associated expenses ourselves.

I sort of feel like a sucker.

Think you’re mad now? That Trump didn’t insist on the same agreement as Canada, then tweets about selling tractors is a huge hint. Prepare to be slow walked and bullshitted ad nauseum.

Are Trump’s hands tied?

It could be capitulation to the Senate GOPe - They're holding him hostage with their impeachment votes. Whatever it is it's going to damage the nation and his re-election chances.

Good post. And you know who else are suckers? The potential immigrants who try to do things right. The woman in Peru who filled out the papers, and is now waiting. The man in Italy who filled out the papers, and is now waiting.

They are all suckers. Because Trump and Congress are letting people who do the wrong thing just walk right in.

And nope, I refuse to put it all the blame on Congress or on some federal judge. As C-in-C, it's Trump's duty to protect the borders. This is perhaps the only mistake he's made. But it's one big mistake.

Truman was right. The buck stops at the Oval Office.

Interesting. I never thought of that. But were I advising Trump, I’d tell him to take the risk. Seal the border anyway.

Oh, and even goofy Bernie Sanders agrees with me on this.

“If you open the borders, my God, there’s a lot of poverty in this world, and you’re going to have people from all over the world. And I don’t think that’s something that we can do at this point. Can’t do it. So that is not my position.”

“Hell you can’t even bring a dog or a parrot into the states without some quarantine time

Soooooo F’n stupid!”

I am shortly going to start a dog training business with a couple of partners. We were planning to bring in top-line dogs from Europe, at about $5K each, until we learned about the quarantine times.

Now I’m thinking that we should put a placard around the dogs’ heads saying, “I identify as a speech-impaired, Congolese citizen who is claiming asylum. Let me in without a quarantine, or I’ll sue the government for discrimination.”

Thanks for nothing, Trump. Trumpbots were clamoring that he had no choice nor voice in this. Only a fool could think such a thing.

Trump has conned us all. He's either trying to stretch this into a 2020 campaign issue, again, since it is the single issue that got him elected, or his ego is punishing sanctuary cities with no regard for America. It's jorge busho all over again.

Is there nobody we can trust to do the right things? On a popular gun forum (which allows political discourse), the trumpbots are saying, "well, at least my stocks are doing well!"

That's not why we voted trump.

Everything you say is wrong.

Look at the things president Trump has proposed and the Democrats have refused to do.

Look at the decisions by the courts and Obama appointed judges.

Learn a little bit about what is actually happening before you post.

That's a lie. Read the other posts on this thread as well.

For the record:

Read the law. It's law passed by Congress giving the POTUS the authority to unilaterally forbid immigrants/invaders entry into America.

8 U.S.C. s 1152(a)(1)

From the above: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Congress gave the President the power to forbid entry into the USA of any immigrant according to the above law.

He also has the power to order troops to the border, as he has done. He has already ordered troops to the border, but only in a impotent capacity. If he can order ten soldiers, he can order 10,000 soldiers. If he can order 10,000 soldiers, he can order them to be armed and have some teeth. He just has to do it. He can prevent anymore incursions onto American soil. If he'll just do it.

The fed judge hacks have countermanded some things, but they cannot stop him from performing the above.

Meanwhile, millions, MILLIONS of these crimigrants are coming across our border.

Honestly, I'll bet you defended jorge busho back in the day.

> Can’t do those things, the courts won’t allow it <

Trump should do it (send federal troops to the border) anyway. Trump would risk a contempt of court citation, and maybe impeachment. Do it anyway.

Heck, if some idiot federal judge somewhere said Trump couldn’t move an aircraft carrier, Trump would do that anyway.

The border problem is serious. Once a major disease breaks out, it will be too late. Once the cartel gangs get established, it will be too late.

By the way, I don’t expect Trump to do anything substantial. For an otherwise bold leader, he’s being very timid here.

“That’s a lie.”

Are you even aware of the laws and regulations regarding illegals who claim to be asylum seekers?

Here I an article I posted yesterday.

There are many other sources you can read that tell about the actual situation on the border if you are interested.

The courts have hamstrung him a few times on the border situation. It is the future and beyond for the liberal voting tallies and it is the only way they can stay in power by bringing in uneducated people that actually believe their lies and vote lockstep.

There is one way that Trump could do it and legally send troops to the borders in places threatened by invading armies of people.

But the armies I’m discussing have come in at so many places Trump won’t be defending but will have to go on the offense. And that opens up a legal can of worms.

Furthermore, states rights groups in California, New York, Colorado and many other states work hard to protect illegals. Groups like the ACLU, sanctuary cities, and liberal judges like the 9th circuit court in San Francisco are among the many groups that protect illegals using state rights as a shield.

It is a fine line Trump has to walk and stay with it. But you can’t open fire on them as they are unarmed and just waiting for it to happen so they can hammer Trump.
