President Trump never revoked former CIA Director John Brennan's security clearance.
The president announced in August that Brennan's security clearance was being stripped due to "erratic behavior" that disqualified him from having access to sensitive information.
But the White House never followed through with the complicated bureaucratic process of revocation, a source told the New York Times.

WTF!!!!
So much for the “two independent sources” rule...
With his background he never should have had one to start with which begs the question- how was he confirmed as Director of the CIA?
Imam Obama
Well, that was dumb. Someone loyal to the administration should have followed through on the entire bureaucratic process of revoking Brennan’s security clearance. It might be tedious work, but draining swamps isn’t glamorous work.
From a lamp post on Pennsylvania Avenue!
A source says. Well if it’s from the times and “a source” gosh what’s not to believe?
“Having a security clearance doesnt mean you have access to anything.”
I had a SECRET CLEARANCE in the 1960’s to work on classified military weapons programs. The Clearance is issued so IF you have a “need to know” something, you can be told about it. You cannot see any classified material at your level unless you need to know about it to facilitate you work. So in Brennan’s case, since he’s out of government, he has absolutely no “need to know” anything. Furthermore, it would be a breach of security for anyone to allow him access to any classified material.
” how was he confirmed as Director of the CIA?”
Answer: Go along to get along Republicans!
I think you’re confirming what I said. The clearance alone doesn’t get you any information or entry into classified areas. You also need access which is a permission all of its own right?
The explanation I read some time ago for why security clearances are revoked when the job requiring them ends is that it takes years and lots of money to get the clearance so it would be inefficient and expensive to repeat the process over and over for the same people who might move from one high clearance job to another. Revoking access takes care of security without revoking the clearance.
Anyway, I agree, Brennan had no ‘need to know’ anything once he left his job.
I saw a lot of different things but the reality of most of that type of really highly classified information is that the parts that make something classified is generally so specific of a detail that even by the end of the shift I couldn't have relayed real secrets to anyone even under torture because it would be lost and scrambled in my mind amongst all the other details.
There are some secrets I remember. They were unusual and stood out. They were the kinds of things you really wanted to tell someone. That's also how you knew they weren't true. Yes, I sat there in my military SCIF reading things that I was suspicious of then and don't believe now.
One way to test a tire for a leak or a pipe for a leak is to pressurize it and see where stuff comes out. Information of that type cant be pressurized by increasing the flow through the system. When looking for that kind of leak the pressure has to come from within the leaker by increasing the desire to tell someone. One good way to find the information leak between point A and D is to tell false secrets so spectacular that someone HAS to say it if there is a leak at points B or C.
Maybe you know there is a leak in a pipe but it goes into a sea of liquid and you don't know where the leaked substance is flowing. One way to find the end point is to intentionally color the flow that is leaking then by observation you know where the leak is leaking to.
There were military personnel that were charged by the military to spy on the military. Every morning they wake up, say the Pledge of Allegiance and then put on their Boris hat and start spying in an effort to find out what enemy spies would find out if that enemy spy tried that same technique or method.
I have successfully retained that dyed pressure test (spectacular and fake information) to this day. Then again, Im nobody and was nobody. I remember an oath and don't believe Im above it and what it meant. Brennan and others on the other hand likely believe they are too important for such ploys to be played on them. Those types believe they are above such things as oaths and country.
This is a weakness and one that can be exploited.

After Hillary's email server, do you still think ANYONE in the Deep State gives a rat's ass about security breaches?
You're so...trusting.
Yep, more lies to meet an anti-Trump deadline. How would it be known?
We can bet POTUS is not allowing Brennan to access a damn thing of substance and is having people watch for any leaks including sting leaks.
And we should believe the NYT why?
