Donald Trump wants investigation into Australia's role in 'Russian hoax'
Guardian ^

Posted on 05/24/2019 5:03:04 PM PDT by ameribbean expat

It is a potentially explosive development for the historically solid US-Australian alliance and the first time Trump has publicly named Australia while discussing what he calls the “Russia hoax” and “witch hunt”.

Trump said on Friday he had declassified “potentially millions of pages” of intelligence documents related to surveillance activities on his campaign and Barr would be in charge of analysing it.

“So what I’ve done is I’ve declassified everything,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Friday before leaving on a trip to Japan.

“He can look and I hope he looks at the UK and I hope he looks at Australia and I hope he looks at Ukraine.

“I hope he looks at everything, because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country.”

The country most culpable in interfering in our elections is Mexico.

I call it "Demographic Warfare".

[Your diplomats did try to stab America in the back. Also they are part of the criminal conspiracy known as five eyes.]

If you’re not Russian or a Slav, in which case I understand the ethnic affinity, which is natural and a good thing - a man needs to believe in something - I’m at a loss as to why you’re so pro-Russian. The Five Eyes/ABCA Armies are basically Greater Britain. We are all Albion’s seed.

You can bet Germany, France, Mexico - anywhere that Trump enterprises may have been looking to do business and/or build a hotel.

Obama (ValJar) was clearly obsessed with Donald

A late day submission to DC Circuit Court in a FOIA case reveals the content of previously
unknown James Comey memos. Obama's entire anti-Trump operation is memorialized in writing:
<><> how Obama’s FBI Director James Comey wrote down the sources and code-names assigned;
<><> how confidential sources engaged with FISA coverage initiated by Obama's FBI;
<><> naming foreign governments assisting Obama and Hillary with their vile efforts;
<><> and the rollout plans for Obama's phony investigation....."by the book."

======================================

During the campaign Hillary bragged about “foreign governments” supporting her election.

Are these the same “foreign governments” Comey had assisting their efforts to frame Trump? (smirk)

That would mean Obama and Hillary were colluding with
foreign governments to meddle in our elections, wouldnt it Donald?

“It looks like both the UK and Australia colluded with the Obama administration to try to stop Trump from taking office.”

Sadly, this may be exactly correct.

It’s not the job of Australian diplomats to be setting up Papadopoulos by feeding a fake story that Trump is working with the Russians, to entice him to brag about it later.

That isn't what happened. Papadopoulous asked for a meeting with the Australian High Commissioner. He told the Australian High Commissioner the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton. The Australian High Commissioner absolutely properly sent a message containing that information to Canberra - that a foreign adversary might be doing something in appropriate with regards to the former Secretary of State of the United States, an ally, and Canberra, quite properly forwarded that information to the counter intelligence service of the United States, which is the FBI.

There's nothing inappropriate about any of that.

When Papadopoulous realised what he'd done, he sought to blame others for his utter stupidity by alleging he was somehow manipulated by Australia into saying something stupid.

Alexander Downer was John Howard's Foreign Minister - Foreign Minister in probably the most conservative, pro-United States government Australia has ever seen. The idea he was involved in some sort of plot like this is absolutely absurd. The only reason it has any credence is that Americans generally don't know who the man they are accusing is and what he's done.

Agreed. ScoMo inherited do.exotic political malaise from Turnbull/Abbot/Gillard/Rudd, but now that he’s won a federal election outright (against the odds and largely by his own effort), he owns it. I’m watching for an indicator he has the ruthlessness which will be required. Haven’t seen it yet. Do hope he has it, though.

So.... I am waiting for all the Freepers who said they would eat their hat, or eat crow, if President Trump declassified everything.

Obama (ValJar) was clearly obsessed with Donald

Which is why I maintain that the spying on Trump started within a day or two of Trump questioning the birth certificate.

His taxes were probably first, considering how "helpful" Lois Lerner was to the Obama agenda

Re: Barr would be in charge of analysing it.

Why? That will take years. And nothing will come of it before 2020.

Why does Trump outsource responsibility for proving his own innocence and incriminating the Democrats and the Deep State?

Trump can read, declassify, and publicly release any document in the Executive Branch of government.

You want a job done right and done on time?

You do it yourself!

Just by reading Trump Tweets, I can tell that his basic understanding of the Russia Hoax and the principal actors involved is minimal at best.

He needs to attack the subject and read relevant documents - every day!

When he finds something compelling, he needs to inform the DOJ and the intelligence agencies that he will release it.

If the agencies or the DOJ disagree, he must require them to make an archived, video taped, point by point rebuttal against his decision to release.

He must require them to publicly announce that they think release should be blocked.

He must require them to formally state if they believe the document is relevant - or not relevant - to Trump's case, or to criminal actions by other people.

Bottom Line - Trump's ongoing passivity in regard to his own innocence is incomprehensible.

Without Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Judicial Watch, Trump would have been impeached or forced to resign in 2017.

Declassified Mueller Report Reveals UK, Australian Intelligence Involved in Anti-Trump ‘Witch Hunt,’
BY AAP AND MELANIE SUN With reporting by AAP US Correspondent Peter Mitchell
March 25, 2019 Updated: March 27, 2019

President Donald Trump’s former foreign policy aide, George Papadopoulos, claims that he was a victim of spying by certain people within the Australian, UK, and U.S. intelligence communities ahead of the 2016 presidential election. George Papadopoulos says he feels vindicated after the release of a summary of Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s probe into Russian meddling.

Mueller, according to the summary, concluded there was no evidence that Trump and members of the president’s election campaign, including Papadopoulos, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government ahead of the election. “The witch hunt is over,” Papadopoulos, Trump’s former campaign foreign policy aide, told AAP on Sunday.“I plan on going on the offensive and hope the president does too. “Declassification of surveillance material is paramount.”

Papadopoulos has been refuting Australian diplomat and former politician Alexander Downer’s claim that he was the one to inform Downer as then Australian high commissioner to the UK about Russia’s alleged possession of thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Downer, in an interview with The Australian newspaper last year, claimed Papadopoulos told him that Russia might use “damaging” material they had on Trump presidential rival Hillary Clinton in the lead-up to the election during a meeting in a London bar in May 2016 before Donald Trump’s 2016 election win. Downer’s assistant and Australian intelligence officer, Erika Thompson, was also at the meeting.

Downer said he was the one to pass that information back to Canberra “the following day or a day or two.”

The Wall Street Journal, quoting a diplomatic source, also reported that Downer was the one to pass on Papadopoulos’s Russia information directly to the U.S. embassy in London.

The meeting between Papadopoulos and Downer is credited as one of the triggers for the FBI investigation that led to Mueller’s probe.The 31-year-old former Trump aide has been saying that he believes Downer’s claim about the email information—which was actually revealed to him by a Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud who has since been accused of working for the FBI and Western intelligence agencies—was part of an elaborate plan by anti-Trump intelligence operatives to frame him and provide the FBI with the reason to proceed with the investigation into allegations of Russia collusion by the Trump campaign.

_

Another example of UK incompetence or complicity? Here is Joseph Mifsud a year after I notified the FBI that he was a “suspected Russian agent” with none other than the British Foreign Minister, Boris Johnson. Strange that a “Russian agent” gets such access to the top in the UK. The person who introduced me to western intelligence asset, Joseph Mifsud, also introduced Alison Saunders (the UKs top prosecutor) to Bruce Ohr 4 days before the Trump tower meeting. I expose this person in my book. U.K. is the epicenter of the coup attempt of last 2 years.

Mueller’s team arrested Papadopoulos on July 27, 2017, at an airport on the same day that Mueller was informed of the discovery of shocking phone texts between former FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page. The texts discussed an “insurance policy” in the “unlikely event” that Trump would win the election. Strzok was the FBI agent responsible for the bureau’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server to send classified information.

After his arrest, Papadopoulos was sentenced to jail for 14 days when he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in early 2017 about his contact with Russian nationals and Mifsud. Papadopoulos was one of Mueller’s first prosecutions. Papadopolous’s book “Deep State Target” will be released on Tuesday, March 26, and details his account of dealings with Downer, Thompson, Trump, and others.

“...

Papadopoulos believes the allies were elements within Australia and the UK and he wants their involvement to be made public.“While the (Mueller) report is likely mired in classified material, and most will likely never be revealed to the public, I do hope what is public is what Alexander Downer’s and Erika Thompson’s roles were and why Downer has become so protected,” Papadopoulos said.

Papadopoulos also says that U.S. congressional sources revealed to him that a transcript exists of his London bar conversation with Downer, according to AAP. A transcript would prove Downer taped their conversation without his knowledge, he said. Downer is said to have close connections with Bill and Hillary Clinton and arranged for the Australian government to pay A$25 million to the Bill Clinton foundation to fight AIDS in Papua New Guinea and South East Asia in 2006 when Downer was foreign minister. The humanitarian projects that came out of the funding helped thousands of HIV-infected patients gain access to antiretroviral AIDS medications, winning much praise, but was also criticised by auditors for “management weakness” and inadequate oversight of the budget, records have shown.

As foreign minister, Downer also oversaw the Australian Secret Intelligence Service at the time of the East Timor spying scandal. After leaving politics, he became a board member for Huawei Australia with John Lord and John Brumby. Downer resigned from the board in 2014.

Downer had previously avoided engaging in Papadopoulos’s spying accusation, telling BBC radio last year: “I’m not going to get into these sort of allegations.” Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has not denied Papadopoulos’s account of his interaction with Downer in previously media interviews and told The New York Times in January 2018 that he was not concerned over the revelation as Australia’s relationship with the United States was in “excellent shape.” “The government won’t be making additional comments on a matter that relates to an ongoing investigation in the U.S.,” he said at the time. “So we’ve got nothing further to add to that.”

Trump told reporters at the White House on March 20 that he would have no problem if the full report was made public.
“Let it come out, let people see it,” Trump said. Top Democrats are also asking for the full report to be made public.

Mark Steyn inteviewed George Papadopoulos recently. Here’s the link: https://www.steynonline.com/9399/honey-traps-and-money-traps

After watching Mark and George discuss that happened, it seems blatantly clear that Briton, Australia, and Italy were trying to get trump through Papadopoulos, who has written a book with the full details. The book is titled: “Deep State Target: How I Got Caught in the Crosshairs of the Plot to Bring Down President Trump”.

Australian Alexander Downer, was the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2014 to 2018. He and Joseph Mifsud (and others) met with Papadopoulis to set up George as a vehicle to entrap Trump.
