Hard to say what was funnier: the story itself or the reactions of the other performers trying to stay in character and not bust up. The latter alone made it worthwhile to watch the Carol Burnett Show, especially in the scenes with Harvey Korman.

LOL, like the old "Debbie Downer" skits on SNL, they would crack up all the time.

I love that clip. I remember the Carol Burnett show, and it was one of the best things on television.

Nothing today compares to those days. Those folks were Americans through and through.

What’s on now is nothing but liberal crap.

The only one able to maintain character was Vicky Lawrence. When he had finished, and (was it Dick Van Dyke or Harvy Korman?) was literally on the floor, Lawrence said deadpanned, “Is that little @sshole done yet” and the whole thing started again.
