BREAKING: Steele Dossier Reportedly Began As Early As 2007!
en Volve ^ | 5/18/2019 | Doyle Alexander

Posted on 05/18/2019 7:51:21 AM PDT by george76

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” this week to discuss the origins of the Steele dossier. He said it should really be called the “Simpson” dossier. Although Christopher Steele likely contributed “stories” to the dossier, and his years of experience in British intelligence lent credence to the document, Nunes believes that Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson may actually have written the majority of it.

In his book “Spygate,” journalist Dan Bongino makes the same case. He points out the striking similarities between articles Simpson and his wife, Mary Jacoby wrote for the Wall Street Journal in 2007 and 2008 and the Steele dossier.

The Tablet’s Lee Smith promoted this theory in a lengthy, but fascinating, December 2017 article.

One of Simpson and Jacoby’s articles, entitled “How Lobbyists Help Ex-Soviets Woo Washington,” was written on April 17, 2007. It discussed the growing trend of wealthy foreigners, Russians in particular, to hire influential Washington insiders as lobbyists, for help with legal troubles or simply to be introduced to the city’s rich and the powerful. Included in their list of American lobbyists and “fixers” is Paul Manafort.

The democrats have been helping the Russians for a lot longer than that. FDR’s closet advisor was a tireless advocate for supporting Stalin and the Soviet expansion.

Does it matter? Only if Trump takes action. So far, NOTHING! Not a total downer but things are heating up and then “wait”. If the IG Report is ready, release it. If Huber is ready, prosecute. The new guy from Ct. should already have enough to prosecute everybody. Do we really have “it all” or is this a game?

Rhetorical question...

So could it be that leftists, aka Democrats, are age old Communists?

WHO really thinks they spied on just ONE Republican candidate..?

What? They just LUCKED OUT when their one target turned out to be the candidate..?

Ridiculous:

They spied on EVERY one of them.

They left NOTHING to chance.

Our government has been assiduously tracking Russians’ activities in this country since 1917.

What were they supposed to do when suddenly they saw all these contacts between Russia and the Trump campaign staff, ignore it? They weren’t targeting Trump, they were targeting Russia, but Russia was targeting Trump.

Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson

What's peculiar is how the other founder or founders of Fusion GPS are getting a complete pass.

I’m not sure how much that Simpson article looks like the dossier. All it really shows is that Simpson has been accusing Republicans of Russian coziness for a long time.

Amazing how they (the left) loved the Soviet Russians back when they were hard-line commies, and (pretend to) hate Russia now!

Not really breaking — just breaking through now to the MSM (a tiny bit).

Exactly. This was standard operational procedure in the corrupt FBI by the 2016 election. For them, how could it be wrong, they got away with it before. Like a bank robber, who after a dozen jobs, begins to rationalize his own behavior.

That’s idiotic. They were targeting Trump. They were not tracking Russians. And Russians were not targeting Trump. That’s a cynical DNC ploy, probably from a focus group. They wanted to know what might enrage conservatives and thought, “hey remember the Cold War those conservatives hated the USSR, let’s call Trump a Russian spy!”

And the Russians stopped being communist almost 20 years ago- the Communist Party in Russia Today, is about like the David Duke wing in politics today in America, gadfly status only.

You’re out of your freaking mind if you think this was Comey, Clapper, strok and Paige, and Brennan, and a bunch of DNC contractors and British spies who were innocently protecting America from Evil Russians.

The fact is, the more a Russian rejects communism, the more the Democrats absolutely despise them.

It’s shocking that someone here on FR innocently except that the intelligence community and FBI was innocently warning America about a Russian threat, and that the Democrats are suddenly patriotic stalwarts busily protecting America. Get real.

Low-class rich Russians have been all over NYC for years. I loathe them - no matter how rich they are they have no manners, are incredibly rude, buy citizenship and still wear suits that Nikita Khrushchev would have rejected.

The first one, which was as hotly anticipated as this one, was a highly redacted coverup. It’s primary finding was there was NO political bias in the FBI’s handling of the Clinton 2016 investigation.

"Mistakes were made, but nothing criminal" Get used to it, you're going to see a lot of that in the coming year.

Yes, yes, those eeeeevil Russians. Meanwhile the Chinese influence is entirely ignored. Wonder why that is...

Glenn Simpson's wife Mary Jacoby's been down this impeachment setup way before:

THINNER GRUEL (Joe Wilson) NROTC ^ | 7/16/04 | Jonah Goldberg Posted by swilhelm73

Salon.com has a "defense" of Joe Wilson. For the most part, the piece is a dull, he-said she-said about the controversy so far, generally sympathetic to Wilson, with some sneaky bits hid in the dull prose in order to make them seem more reasonable. For example the author, Mary Jacoby, says "But no sale of uranium ever took place, Wilson reported, and that conclusion is not in dispute." That's true, but Bush never said Iraq purchased the uranium, he merely said Iraq sought it. Wilson said Iraq didn't and that his cryptic sweet-tea swilling conversations proved it. That's the part that's in dispute. Nobody sent Wilson to Africa because they thought Iraq actually obtained the uranium. This is a back-handed way of bolstering Wilson's "credibility" in an area where it was never questioned. Wilson, by the way, also contends that Africa is by and large a very hot contintent with many exotic animals. That conclusion is not in dispute either. …/snip

Hmmm....I thought it was a dud and this confirms it. Two for two?
