Many of us were very disappointed in GW after Obama was elected. But President Trump is the one who forced the entire Bush clan to really put their true colors in full view. Previously, the consensus on our side was that GW was a bit muddle headed but meant well. After the battles with President Trump that perception changed. GW and his brother Jeb are full on tools of the deep state and it now it seems obvious that it started with HW Bush.

So back to your question, a lot of minds have been changed since the campaign that brought President Trump to the Whitehouse. A lot of people did not see the Bushes true colors.

GW shut down all non-business private aviation for months even though general aviation never posed any credible threat to National Security. Almost everything that he did was for looks and not actual results. Even the war resulted in a whole lot of pain and expense for little benefit. I threw away a bunch of crap that we were saving that was sent from the Whitehouse during his reign... Christmas cards, and thank you letters sent to supporters. At this point I want no reminders that I once believed in him and his dad.

I started off very opposed to GWB but felt forced to toe the line largely by my FR-iends, but I warmed to him somewhat after 911. Thought it outrageous the whole world backed the Iran war up until we actually committed to it and then blamed him for it.

In the end, as you said; " Almost everything that he did was for looks and not actual results." And that goes for being silent and complicit in the demonization of anyone who questioned Obama's qualifications for office, as if US Citizens are racist for asking.
