American voters were concerned about an economic downturn in a Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service poll that found 58 percent of voters approve of the president’s performance when it comes to the economy.
Registered and likely 2020 voters from both sides of the Republican-Democrat aisle were surveyed in the “Battleground Poll” from March 31-April 4 that reached 1,000, according to NBC News.
Of those, 59 percent expressed concern about the possibility of an economic decline. However, 58 percent approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing when it comes to the economy. The report noted that the president has been relatively consistent at a 55 percent overall job approval rating.
A whopping 82 percent of those surveyed said they are “extremely” likely to vote, according to the report.
As to the question of whether the country is going in the right direction, 74 percent of Republicans said yes it is while 92 percent of Democrats said no.

Most people have done their taxes by now, and have seen how their 2018 finances and investments have done relative to 2016.
Of the other 42%, 12% hate Trump regardless, 10% are Socialists, and the remaining 20% are stoned.
And that is the key to Democrat success in 2020: they MUST destroy the economy.

Why is it only 74 percent of Rs?
Is this a reliable poll?
Last week it was stated that 99 percent of Rs support Trump, or some incredibly high number.
I don’t believe what I saw this morning:
Blake Burman or Brad Blakeman, whatever, the Fox Business White House Correspondent reported this morning that these figures were on Lou Dobbs last night and they were wrong.
58%approval for economy was correct, but
55% approval overall was WRONG...THAT NUMBER WAS FOR DISAPPROVAL.
I just read the whole article and reporter was WRONG.
And I am furious!!!!
dont believe polls dude..even when it says Trump is ahead 56%, I dont believe it..
every poll is skewed. I just take this stupid poll with a grain of salt.

You know, I have been hearing about these long term demographic trends for over 25 yrs and how “soon” the Conservatives would be extinct.
But I’m guessing that in the end people are:
Not as stupid as everyone (especially the experts) seems to believe
and
Most likely to vote their wallet and bank account.
Example is NJ. You would be hard pressed to find a more Liberal State and yet each time they vote in a Democrat Governor they only last one term before even the massive Lefty majority of voters throw them out.
This latest guy, Phil Murphy is a walking talking disaster who on a mission to raise taxes as fast and as high as he can. He has been Gov for just over a year and already there is an effort to recall him.
Liberals like the IDEAS of Liberals/Socialist but when forced to live in their world become very disallusioned very quickly.
Communism, in any of its guises, is a command-and-control form of government, and as such, is antithetical to the founding principles of the United States of America.
Once the agreement is made by the voters to put one of these command-and-control operatives into office, usually by making long promises that cannot possibly be kept, the machinery that tends to protect incumbents kicks in, by distributing perks to the voters of the districts, and also by various forms of fraud at the ballot box. When the number of these command-and-control operatives reaches a critical mass (usually about 10-20% of the entire legislature), they can effectively block any actions to stifle further encroachments of government upon freedom. It is not necessary to gain a majority to effectively rule the nation as a whole, it is only necessary to crush all criticism before it rises to the level of general discontent.
This requires collusion on many levels in the society, which in and of itself is not criminal activity. But criminal activity may be engaged in, through the pursuit of this collusion, through both suppression, and the dissemination of disinformation to the public at large.
