Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is escalating her call for Democrats to end the 60-vote requirement for many major bills to clear the Senate if her party wins the White House and Republicans try to block their agenda.
The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate is set to speak Friday at the National Action Network convention in New York.
According to her prepared remarks, she will say that “the filibuster was used as a tool to block progress on racial justice.” …

I still don’t get the concerns over Trump’s border emergency declaration, by people saying the Democrats will declare an emergency over guns or global warming. They will declare these emergencies anyway when back in power, regardless of whatever Trump does.
Then she won’t object if we end the 60-vote rule now?
And all of the Dem minions are out there now, registering everyone they can, legal or not. Does anyone think we will win ANY elections from here on out? Today, the purpose of the 60-vote rule is to give the party with a narrow majority an excuse NOT to pass legislation that their voters want but their donors oppose.
Mitch McConnell kept the 60-vote rule in place during the debate over funding border security measures last year because this enabled him to avoid a scenario where he'd have to publicly admit that he didn't even have 50 votes to support it.
End it now and get things done. WE All know those scum will do this 1st thing if they get the chance.

The filibuster or “filibuster” was set on a course to be ended altogether when the Democrats used their “nuclear option” to confirm their judges. Republicans came back to power in the Senate and continued the Democrat measure which upset Democrats, of course, and made it inevitable that they would end it for everything once they got majority status in the Senate again. The filibuster is the last vcharacteristic that makes the Senate different from the House other than length of term.
I am wondering if the occasional cortex will declare herself a candidate.Obama ended some Constitutional requirements. The bartender might end the age requirement.
This was coming anyway.
I’ve supported getting rid of the filibuster for decades. The founders envisioned a legislative branch able to quickly act and to quickly reverse course. That’s why almost everything required only a majority vote.
