Ocasio-Cortez, chief of staff illegally moved $885G in campaign contributions 'off the books,'
Fox ^ | 03-05-19 | Gregg Re

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Saikat Chakrabarti, the progressive firebrand's multimillionaire chief of staff, apparently violated campaign finance law by funneling nearly $1 million in contributions from political action committees Chakrabarti established to private companies that he also controlled, according to an explosive complaint filed Monday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and obtained by Fox News. Amid the allegations, a former FEC commissioner late Monday suggested in an interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation that Ocasio-Cortez and her team could separately be facing major fines and potentially even jail time if they were knowingly and willfully violating the law by hiding their control of the Justice Democrats political action committee (PAC). Such an arrangement could have allowed Ocasio-Cortez's campaign to receive donations in excess of the normal limit, by pooling contributions to both the PAC and the campaign itself. The FEC complaint asserts that Chakrabarti established two PACs, the Brand New Congress PAC and Justice Democrats PAC, and then systematically transfered more than $885,000 in contributions received by those PACs to the Brand New Campaign LLC and the Brand New Congress LLC -- companies that, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures. The PACs claimed the payments were for "strategic consulting."

First you’d have to find an unreasonable prosecutor.
We know that no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute a Democrat.

Unless some other, better-connected Democrats wanted to remove a thorn in the side upstart.

Cash in the freezer. Democrat Party resume enhancer.

She’ll still be in Congress long after we’ve landed on Mars.

“Unless some other, better-connected Democrats wanted to remove a thorn in the side upstart.”

She argues with fellow Democrats, making a list of “not progressive enough” Democrats to primary, and has her own agenda which often differs from the party agenda. And she just got into a twitter spat with Greenpeace, of all groups.

She’s singling herself out, and not in a good way.

As noted in an earlier post today: All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.

Even Socialists need to choose a Leader. If the Leader turns out to be a crook and eventually a dictator that’s just the price you pay for Nirvana. Or perhaps for starving to death.

Fortunately the Leader to Dictator Transition happens 100% of the time. Wait a minute ... let me check my math.

The FEC complaint asserts that AOC's COS, Saikat Chakrabarti established two PACs that raised big bucks for AOC's campaign:
<><> the Brand New Congress PAC, and,
<><> Justice Democrats PAC.
Then Chakrabarti systematically transferred $885,000 Plus in contributions received by the PACs to his rivae companies:
the Brand New Campaign LLC
and the Brand New Congress LLC --
Saikat Chakrabarti's private companies, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures.

ANALYSIS --- Chakrabarti's companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used. The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions from federal PACs to candidates, according to the complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group. Campaign finance attorneys described the arrangement as “really weird” and an indication "there’s something amiss." They said there was no way of telling where the political donations went — meaning they could have been pocketed or used by the company to pay for off-the-books campaign operations.---SNIP---SOURCE FR.

===================================

BACKSTORY Oh, wait.....AOC's COS, Saikat Chakrabarti, is a tech wiz.
(A) He co-founded a web design tool, and then (B) built up the product team at the payment processor Stripe.........
(C) he then came to the Sanders campaign after (cough) growing disillusioned with the tech world.

So...... Chakrabarti's tech skills musta come in mighty handy when donations to Bernie were wire-transferred to the DNC
and ended up in Hillary's account
. Debbie W/S headed the DNC at the time and was ousted b/c of her bias for Hillary.

<><> Chakrabarti did find out about the tech theft, didnt he?

<><> Chakrabarti did speak to D/W/S about it, didnt he?

<><> Chakrabarti did tell Bernie about it, didnt he?

<><> Chakrabarti WAS working for Bernie, wasnt he?

Pelosi can make this go away. DC is full of patsies, ready to take the fall. But the price will be that the Cortez kitty gets ‘fixed’ and stops clawing up the furniture.
