People are not going to turn in their guns and politicians who think they will do so are being naïve. Fighting will surely ensue as the forces of the regime go door to door to try to take them.

The military would never do that as it would violate their oath of enlistment to protect and defend the constitution. I sure as hell wouldn’t.
The confiscating forces will be fractured. I don’t see all military and police forces united in coordinated confiscation. But there will be enough of them, a la Nazi Germany, just following orders to create a violent response to protect their civil liberties. And this is why a Second Amendment exists.

This is not even close to civil war, but it is the most uncivil discourse from the most uncivil people (leftists) I have seen in my lifetime. More properly, it's a cold civil war, one of information battles. The one side has all the main media centers on their side. They also have google, Twitter and facebook. Almost total power.
Yet they are losing. I think they are losing because they have become arrogant, drunk on power. They think they can say and do anything, so they are sloppy, and they lie a lot. With all this power, they do not hold the high ground.
We have the high ground. We are winning because the truth is on our side. Plus we have tens of thousands of people who know how to dig out the truth and how to pass it on.
