How perfectly typical. The Fox article carefully omits mention of the sex of the abused kids. Now, why would they do that?

I knew immediately when I saw the ages 11 and 12 that the kids were male, and I verified that in another online article. In the Fox article, the mother worried about her young daughter need not have been concerned. This is the standard, Catholic priest-type abuse. The victims are POST-pubescent, not PRE-pubescent males. They are adolescents, not children. Pedophiles are attracted to prepubescent children.

There seems to be no word that specifically describes homosexual attraction to early post-pubescent males. The closest is "hebephilia," but unfortunately that can apply to both sexes.

Maybe the best we can do is to call the men with this sexual preference "pederasts," though there are problems with that word, too.

We definitely should stop pretending that the typical man who engages in this sort of homosexual abuse is interested in seven year old girls. He is not.
