The delivery worker, Aurelio Fuentes Jr., was reportedly distributing copies of the Fresno Bee when he happened upon the infant wrapped in a blanket and crying in front of a church on California Route 36. It was just before 4 a.m. and freezing outside, so he called 911. The operator told him to pick up the baby; when he, he discovered the baby wasn't wearing a diaper.

The absence of a diaper suggests that whoever had the baby was totally unprepared for the delivery. Very strange.
