Washington Times ^

WASHINGTON — A divided Supreme Court stopped Louisiana from enforcing new regulations on abortion clinics in a test of the conservative court’s views on abortion rights.

The justices said by a 5-4 vote late Thursday that they will not allow the state to put into effect a law that requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals.

Roberts is probably a queer, or some such thing. I’m beginning to think that the Deep State is one part communists and two parts sexual degenerates.

Yes. And I don’t think Sotomayor or Breyer are even in DC either. They’ve both been out of town.

There is zero proof that she is conscious, alive, let alone working.

I bet Joan Rivers could wish her plastic surgeon had hospital admitting privileges.

Can’t say off the top of my head of people who died during abortion procedures, but I have always found it oddly hypocritical of the Dems that they are basically in favor of abortion on demand, calling it a ‘choice’ between a woman and the doctor, while at the same time they support piles of regulations on the treatment a woman needs after an abortion - from pain meds to antibiotics to anti-coagulants to psychological support etc.

The things I abhor the most in people is lack of principle (the ends justify the means), and hypocrisy or unequal application of so-called ‘principles’ depending on the topic. Why is an abortion a choice between a woman, her doctor and God but everything surrounding that choice totally regulated and controlled by numerous government agencies?

I am a man. I resent the idea promulgated by the left that some things are sacrosanct while other things need be highly-related and subject to governmental regulatory whim.

My sense of Roberts is that he is simply afraid of the social/societal ramifactions of USSC decisions. So he swings his vote to the side that causes the least disruption to society. He votes for the status quo.

If I am right, I can disagree but at least he has some kind of principle.

Though I am loathe to figure out how the heck he voted to uphold Obamacare... and now that the so-called ‘tax’ is gone whether he would, if forced, to change sides and vote down Obamacare because the ‘tax’ that he argued justified his vote is gone.

The case is on hold and Not yet decided.

Truncated excerpts like this one mislead.

This is why failing to read through articles for ourselves keeps us ignorant, mislead and ill informed.

Alito extended it 45 days giving doctors time to comply, for hospital privileges . Still, Louisiana law allows abortion and that fact is not related to Supreme Court justice.

The “principle” of millions of evil psychos will get upset if I don’t let them butcher their pre-born offspring without any restrictions?

That’s utilitarianism, degrades human life & is Satanic.

“There should be a mechanism where the state could question how the vote took place.”

I think every case that has been “decided” while RBG has been at home “recovering” should be challenged unless she is able to provide the Plaintiffs with proof that she was alive and of sound mind when her vote was supposedly cast!

I understand the Separation of Powers issue but do either of the other two branches of government have the ability to question the Supreme Court? And if so, by what mechanism?

How is this the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction?

Are they going to next say that doctors don’t have to go to medical school?

How did Neil Gorsuch vote?

Damn him to hell!

And when he gets to Hell, Roberts will find out:

(1) there is a wall around Hell.
(2) It was built to keep the inmates inside, not the illegals outside.
(3) There ain’t no way out, no way over, and no way under.
(4) “Thou shalt not kill” was a Commandment, not a Comment.

President Donald Trump’s two Supreme Court appointees, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, were among the four conservative members of the court who would have allowed the law to take effect.

The case is not on hold. Pro-abort sought to stop the LA law from taking effect & Roberts did just that.

The 4 good justices would not have impeded the LA law.

Roberts has frozen the law and if the Court (as is likely denies cert.), the LA law will be dead, just like the babies.

Good point. How (physically) did RBG crawl into the court to "vote"? Or did her clerks do it for her? WHO VOTED for RBG?
