What when my two sons were very young they shared a route for the Sacramento Union. The Bee routes paid better but I refused to let them work for that piece of poop paper.
I tried, but the routes all around our neighborhood were taken.
What general area in Sacramento? I was born, raised, and lived there.
I lived in the Land Park area.
We lived a block from Land Park for 2 years then bought a home near Citrus Heights. Lived there 15 years and escaped to Oregon 30 years ago. Best decision I ever made. The boys got to finish growing up in rural Oregon hunting and fishing.
Well; they can always learn to code.
Google and facebook get 80% of the advertising revenue now. There isn’t less liberal propaganda, it’s just more concentrated in fewer places. Still, it’s good to see some of these liberal Pravda mouthpieces go under.
Is their CIA funding drying up, did someone forget to feed their mockingbird?
“For me the worst years will always be the Obamanation years.”
I got Obama’d out of a job because he was punishing Republicans by withholding the defense budget. I forget what they called it, like everything the policy had a marketing name. Because I didn’t make my time and age, it cost me my pension, leaving me on my savings and Social Security. I despise Democrats. (For more than just that, but having to watch every penny certainly keeps them in mind when I take out my wallet.)
What I don’t understand is the media is a business. The object of business is to make money. A blind man could see that the closer your output is to what people want the more of that output you will sell. What kind of output does the consumer want from the media? An unbiased recitation of the news with as little emotional commentary as possible. So, knowing this, why did they create false story after false story? And, it wasn’t as if the falsity of the stories was difficult to discern. Much of what they “reported,” some would say “made up,” was so illogical and not in keeping with previously known facts that anyone should have hesitated in publishing the “information,” some would say “lies,” before the full facts could come out.
These businesses didn’t “fail.” They suicided.
Where you miss the point is that most of these businesses are underwritten by some larger moneyed entity that has a big agenda. Bezos does not care if the Washington post loses money, he pays for them to push their lies. Like wise with all of the network news. All of the major media outlets are agenda machines. Occasionally, when an airplane crashes they provide an actual news service to the public.
no sympathy.
bury the MSM.
The time of the wun pretty much destroyed me as well.
I despise him and his fellow travelers and enablers to no end.
The 4th estate is a 5th column.
Yep - years ago, we would get the local Sun Herald...shortly after McClatchy bought it out, I stopped my subscription and I imagine it’s been going downhill since.
“McDonalds is HIRING!”
Yeah, let’s not have these “departures” affect Trump’s positive employment numbers!
When I was growing up there were two newspapers. The Arizona Republic which was pretty much republican, and The Phoenix Gazette. Between the two people actually managed to get the truth. The way things are today there is no truth so why bother.
Denver had two compeating papers.
The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News.
Des Moines had a morning and afternoon paper published by the same company.
The afternoon paper folded years ago.
“We’re laying people off because we’re going broke.”
I am leading a one man campaign against the Major Propaganda Rag - USA Today. If you are staying in a hotel, please don’t take a copy of the far leftist news. Every hotel has a dozen copies of USA Today at the front desk. It is a good day when you see the desk clerk throw away all dozen copies the next morning!
HuffPost, NYDN....the news keeps getting better and better.
FWIW there were supposedly hundreds and hundreds in propaganda funding that Obama got passed in a defense budget bill in December 2016, with funding starting the month Trump took office to pay the likes of CNN and Buzzfeed 9-figure amounts to crank out anti-Trump propaganda. That was for a two-year period, and though Trump didn’t manage to cut it short, it didn’t get re-funded, so now the paid-off media are cutting the staff dedicated to it.
