What you saw in Bali was not like most of Indonesia. Bali has their own form of Hinduism, and they are very peaceful, tolerant and friendly people. Mainland Indonesia is majority Muslim, and while certainly NOT tolerant, they are still pretty friendly compared to many Islamic countries. But Bali, that is a very special place.

1. Bali has lots of Hindus and caters to tourism, so it is much more tolerant than most of Muslim-dominated Indonesia

2. Shiit Law (as I call it) .. is HORRIBLE!
