Sarah,

Clearly, there is no longer a political solution to what ails us. I think we knew this even before Donald Trump became President Trump but we, as a group, gave it one more shot anyway.

Precious time has elapsed and now our time is mighty short. Either We the People take the bull by the horns and take our country back now, or everything we hold dear will be gone forever.

I agree with Sen. Cruz.

Additionally, even though shutdown is actually based on state government powers imo, and uniquely associated state revenues that post-17th Amendment ratification feds have stolen from the states and continue to steal, 2018 and 2019 “federal” taxes need to be prorated to compensate taxpayers for loss of services imo.

In fact, since mail services (1.8.7) continued through Democratic and MSM-manufactured shutdown, it can be argued that most constitutionally justifiable domestic “federal” government services were never shutdown.

Also, not only does tax day for unconstitutional federal taxes, infamously April 15, need to be moved to the day before election day imo until the states wise up repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments, but PDJT should likewise consider moving SOTU to the day before election day since Constitution doesn’t specify a calendar date for SOTU.

I don’t believe the courts have a play in this. Congress does though and they need a majority in both houses to overturn Trump’s call.

The Democrats will not negotiate a damn thing. Schumer already told Trump to go to hell. They have put Trump down and Trump lost his chance to get anything done.

Just the opposite. The Republican Party is getting stronger as it learns to fight.

It's been 12 years since the 2006 Fence act. We know what happened during 8 of those years.

It's our turn and the President is fighting for you and me. Stay strong.

Good statement by Cruz. But I agree with Mariner, this does not belong in Breaking News.

There is nothing "Breaking" in what Cruz wrote.

He tried before. The Republicans controlled the House. But the Rs allowed 8 Dems to controll the Senate! Trump has had enough!

I didn’t know about the support from one of the republican senators, and I am glad you posted it, Lonestar.

Breaking news to me.

The House and Senate refused to get it done! That’s those 40+ “retirements” between both Houses of GOPEs.

Get your head out of 0bama’s nether region.

He has been great since his slip up of 2016.

He was great before 2016, as well.

It doesn’t matter if they are shut down or not. They basically got a five week paid vacation. They had no skin in the game if they had any sort of savings account.

The Rats are convinced that they've won.Nobody can be sure what voters think. But the Rats most assuredly won't give in so an Executive Order...or an Emergency Declaration...are the only two plausible options.

We need to flood the White House switchboard with demands for such an Order/Declaration.
