How ‘bout Gav sue his own town of Kentfield (median home price $2.2 million)? Bet lots of folks would love an affordable place there... maybe next door to Chateau Newsom?

If you build ‘affordable housing’ in high value neighborhoods, you bring down the value of those houses and lose your tax base to people who can’t pay taxes...............

They should follow San Jose's example. Building affordable house with Shipping Crates.

Buy a Shipping Crate for maybe three grand. But spend SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND

Gavin just bought a three million dollar house in Sacramento, too.

Betcha there’s no low-income housing in that neighborhood, either.

It’s not about revenue. It’s about diversification. You are 100% on the mark though. California has other ways by which it could make housing more affordable if that was really the goal.

The problem (in California, the US and the world) is too damned many people.

by a factor of several hundred times.

Let the market decide, let the low-lifes go somewhere else.

we need a good plague and a world population of a few hundred million tops. 2 million is too many for California.

If they merely ended zoning, the way Houston and a number of other cities never had it, affordable housing would zoom with none of the complicated, sweetheart deal mandates the legislature keeps on dreaming up. No need for government subsidies and waiting lists or lottery drawings for affordable housing. Of course, wealthy liberals would be up in arms about apartment complexes suddenly popping up next door. Liberals love poor people, provided that they’re located far, far away.

“How ‘bout Gav sue his own town of Kentfield (median home price $2.2 million)?”

In a rational and logical world, you’d be correct. But many many liberals (especially the more well-off ones like Newsom) are NIMBY’s.

Like Rosie O’Donnell who rails against gun ownership - but has one herself for protection.

Or people in a certain tony section of Minneapolis who are all in favor of light rail - until a line is considered near their residences?

Or public policy activists who rail against big money in politics - unless, of course, that big money is from labor unions and leftist billionaires like Bloomberg and Steyer?

Or Nancy Pelosi who has a wall surrounding her home for protection - but refuses to allow a wall on the border for the rest of ours protection?

I despise liberals because I feel they are the ultimate hypocrites. For them, it always “Do As I Say, Not As I Do”.

All they would have to do is set aside some unused city property and haul in a couple dozen pre-manufactured modular homes and set them up. It would be cheap and quick..............
