President Trump announced late Wednesday night he will give the State of the Union Address when the government shutdown comes to an end.
As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. The announcement comes just hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disinvited the President from giving the address.
"I am writing to inform you the House of Representatives will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the President's State of the Union address in the House Chamber until government has opened," Pelosi wrote. "I look forward to welcoming you to the House on a mutually agreeable date for this address when government has opened."

At the White House Wednesday afternoon, Trump berated Pelosi for the move, said there would be an alternative for the address and declared the Speaker "can't handle the truth" about the current state of affairs in the country.
"The State of the Union speech has been canceled by Nancy Pelosi because she doesn't want to hear the truth. She doesn't want the American public to hear what's going on. And she's afraid of the truth. And the super-left Democrats, the radical Democrats, what's going on in that party is shocking. I know many people that were Democrats and they're switching over right now, they're switching over quickly. So I hope they know what they're doing for their party. So far they haven't," Trump said. "I will say that the American people want to hear the truth. They have to hear the. truth and the truth is all about - and said I think and I hope well - we were planning on doing a really very important speech in front of the House and the Senate and the Supreme Court and everybody else's that there. It's called the State of the Union, it's in the Constitution. We're supposed to be doing it and now Nancy Pelosi - or 'Nancy' as I call her - she doesn't want to hear the truth and she doesn't want, more importantly, the American people to hear the truth. So we just found out that she's canceled it and I think that's a great blotch on the incredible country that we all love. It's a great, great horrible mark."
"It's a sad thing for our country. We'll do something in the alternative. I'll be talking to you about that at a later date," he continued.
This is the correct move. The objective is funding for the wall.
In denying access to the House chamber, Pelosi was changing the subject to a fight over the location of the SOTU speech.
Now the fight is back on target, Still waiting for legislation that the president will sign that will include funding for border security and an end to the shutdown.
He blinked. Disappointing
No it does not make Trump look weak. Trump is keeping his eye on the prize — building the wall. You can’t let dingbat Nancy set the agenda and make it about giving to State of the Union Address.
So many concern tolls....he took the high road and opted to not turn it into a circus which would have given the Fake News a hey day....he wants to win the war, not every petty battle...and he is massing his forces for where and when they will count the most....
because he is a novice when dealing with this bunch....way too naive.

Not enough time for Pelousi to do so to Trump and then try to get Pence impeached and removed...at best they can try to neuter Pence, but they still need to convince the Senate to remove Trump.
1) Shutdown continues because of her being obstinate.
2) Lost her freebie access to military transportation, not only for herself but others in congress,
3) Losing everyday with 800K government workers that know our President has a proposal on the table that she refuses to look at.
4) Looks petty and unconcerned when she dismisses congress early for a 5 day weekend.
5) Has a very ambitious Steny Hoyer sitting right there, with all of his political ambitions on super high alert, watching her fail every day, knowing at the right time, he can vanquish the queen and take her place.
6) Her district is in shambles, crap on the sidewalks, who would want to live there.
7) Every public appearance makes her look more and more senile.
8) Her stupid little power play about the SOTU address, makes her look petty and no better then a banana republic dictator.
What did I miss?
He shows that he respects the 3 branches of government and will not go uninvited. He also shows his willingness to negotiate to bring the shutdown to an end. Nancy is all about disrespect for more than half of the United States’ population and voters. She has also given herself more vacation days as Speaker, than she has worked, but keeps getting paid and paid more than anyone in Congress.

The don’t want him to give the SOU speech because they don’t want the world to know Ruth Buzzy is at death’s door.
“I’m Done” is even more brief.
This is the lamest thing I have ever read on free republic in 10 years. THE WALL IS THE ISSUE, THE ONLY ISSUE RIGHT NOW!!!
It is all about the purple states and the swing voters. He will probably lose California and NY by 8 million votes, but he could wind the ec by more than last time. I don’t trust polls as a poll could be from anywhere. I actually think he is doing better in the purple states.

If you’re sitting around waiting for Press acknowledgement of Trump’s accomplishments, you’ll be waiting forever. If you think the Press will NOT contort every daily event into a Democrat “victory”, you aren’t paying attention.
Trump has played this out exactly right, as far as I can see:
1) Botox Nan sends lecture + invite.
2) Trump accepts. What was he supposed to do, “No. No, Lucy! You’ll just yank that football away!”?
3) BN drops the bomb and issues diss/cancel before her family Euro-vacation.
4) Trump cancels BN’s family Euro-vacation.
5) Trump speaks directly to Americans about the need for the Barrier and compromises he is making to allow progress.
6) Trump publicly disputes BN SOTU cancelation excuses and reiterates importance of SOTU.
7) BN says, “No. Dammit. Can’t you see that the invite was just a lie, Charlie Brown?”
8) Trump says, “O.K. Lucy, but one of these days I AM going to kick that ball! And you’re going to sit right there and hold it for me.”
The ball has yet to be kicked.
But it’s BS to complain about “not handling correctly” an invite that isn’t an invite.
