Relax. I have plans to let them out in Chicago or Detroit.

Yeah, I know. These poor homeless bums don’t deserve THAT, but too bad.

I can’t figure out how it’s possible to get multiple 240-square-foot units in a 40’ X 8’ container, unless 1 1/3 is considered multiple.

Willow Glen is one of San Jose’s upscale neighborhoods.

Well, where do you WANT the bums to live? Skid Row???

Oh ... yeah ...

No.

Ten thousand for a shipping container.

590 thousand for the politicians friends.

“The price tag per unit is $600,000 which includes preparing the site, utilities, materials, and labor.”

Might be worth it if only we could ship them somewhere.

“Morons in San Jose have the right idea about shipping containers, just the wrong approach”

I was thinking more along the lines of an artificial reef. Good for the environment and all that.

to initially put temporary manufactured home on Evans Lane. After pushback from neighbors, it's now evolved into permanent shipping container

mobile homes, likely 40x15 at maybe 50,000 apiece, with less density, and after 'pushback' $600,000 per 20x10 unit with high density, yet a 20x10 container costs about $2500 delivered. How do local gvts get away with this kind of robbery?

$600,000?

They already own the Land and you can buy a used Container for around $3,000. Is Tony Soprano the Contractor?

The Marxist Liberal, Gavin Newsom, should be giving the homeless, he promotes and uses, housing with him and his “partner” wife. Jerry Brown and now his twin Newsom have ruined San Francisco, LA, Santa Barbara and most of CA with their homeless and illegals. He will soon finish the state off for good.

There are newly built condos in Morgan Hill (20 miles south) for $700K each. I wonder whose pockets are being lined here.

A simple internet search shows many ‘shipping container homes’ for under $10K. Someone’s making good money off this scam.

If they really wanted to help the ‘homeless’ they would use them for labor and teach them some useful skills.

36.6 million to start. utilities are an ongoing expenses.
How many of the 4000 will fit in half the “homes” ?

and San Jose has that kind of reserves ?

course, they did say half will be for “low-income”...whatever that means.

and the neighbors didn’t push back on this ?

Think of what the crime rate in that “village” will be.

And it will look hellish and filthy probably from the first week it exists.
