UTAH COUNTY The Utah County Sheriffs Office shared more information about an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
Detectives said a man recently arrested on the suspicion of drug trafficking was living in the United States illegally and had been deported eight different times.
On January 12, the detectives with the Utah County Special Enforcement Team arrested 44-year-old Jose Olegario Lopez. Detectives recovered $850,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamine following a search of his car.
Lopez was booked into jail on two first-degree felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents placed a hold on Lopez and a judge ordered that he held without bail. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Lopez is from the State of Sinaloa in Mexico.
Investigators say Lopez has connections to drug trafficking operations outside of Utah and is known to regularly bring drugs into the state.

We need special WORK PRISONS for these people:
It’s not free to catch and deport someone EIGHT TIMES, to say nothing of the unmeasurable misery he has caused our people in the interim.
This is a special TYPE of person requiring special punishment:
THEY OWE AMERICA.
Living in a 21st century has its pluses, but the downside is it’s over-the-top tendency to err on the side of mercy...and thus err on the side of enabling. This guy should be fertilizing daffodils.
All prisons should be WORK prisons.
We need to fill the border tunnels with fellars like this and collapse them.
This is exactly why we need the wall. How many times should our nation have to deport criminals like this. Get him out and keep him out.
Pelosi to invite him to SOU address.
Wasn’t he a valedictorian though?
“I can’t get this s__t right!”
Now, now folks - we can’t have fine immigrants like Jose living in the shadows. Most illegals (oops! i mean immigrants) have little to fear in Utah.
When it comes to drug-trafficking illegals, I think we should have a Three Strikes and Shot rule.
Hoe about ONLY one strike-—
And a raffle with the winner getting to shoot him???
No one seems to be commenting on the $850,000 worth of drugs he was caught with.
