It is unlikely, but now at least possible, that Nancy Pelosi will be the next president of the United States. It will not happen by election in 2020, but by succession to the White House this year. Some of you might recall that after the near assassination of Ronald Reagan, chaos ensued in the White House. Secretary of State Alexander Haig told reporters, “Constitutionally, gentlemen, you have the president, the vice president and the secretary of state, in that order.” He added, “As for now, I am in control here, in the White House, pending the return of the vice president.” He was wrong.
Other than the vice president, the Constitution does not specify an order of succession to the Oval Office, which is determined by federal statute. Under the Presidential Succession Act of 1947, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, not the secretary of State, is in line for the presidency after the vice president. Therefore, if both Donald Trump and Mike Pence are either removed from office or resign, then Pelosi becomes president.

This is outrageous insinuation. But if I was Trump I’d still check underneath the bed every night before he goes to sleep.
If Trump leaves office for any reason, Pence becomes POTUS. He can then pick a VP - so long as BOTH houses of Congress agree. I would assume that the Dems in the House would never agree to a Republican - so we would have a situation where there could conceivably have no VP. It would make Pence a prime target.
Mueller would have to be the most incompetent investigator in history to leave a traitor in the white house this long. And if he is that incompetent, don’t expect any evidence before 2020.
Too bad Peter Sellers isn’t around to play Mueller in the movie.

I believe if the Presidency becomes vacant, the VP becomes President, and then appoints a VP. If the VP becomes vacant, the President appoints a VP to fill remainder of term. Only in the event both Pres and VP are vacant at the same time, would Speaker of House become President...very, highly, unlikely.
