White House invite for dictator who has stolen billions from his impoverished African nationdailymail.co.uk ^ | June 9, 2011 | Daniel Bates
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2001593/Barack-Obama-invites-Gabon-dictator-Ali-Bongo-White-House.html

Barack Obama has come under fire for extending a formal invitation to a shamed African dictator who has ruthlessly plundered billions of dollars from his own country. The U.S. President will today have a coveted private meeting with President Ali Bongo of Gabon in the Oval Office despite his appalling track record. Bongo’s family has ruled the impoverished African nation with an iron fist for five decades and have used its oil riches to fund a life of outrageous luxury. Meanwhile one third of people in Gabon live on less than $2 a day and thousands starve to death each...

With a population of 2-million, it just takes 300 well-armed soldiers to open up a coup.

Looks like bedtime for Bogno.

Oh, and kudos for Fallout, although

Reportedly, coup has been put down.

I don’t know a lot about this. The President must have allowed our troops access to Gabon for our troops to stage rescue operations in DR Congo.

DR Congo is a hot spot, Gabon apparently is right next to regular Congo.

All that said, I’d probably side with the coup-plotters who got put down apparently.

This is the thing, I’m not criticizing that statement but we just deployed troops to Gabon two days ago, to aid any Americans who might need help if things broke down in DR Congo with their most recent elections, results still not announced:

So, it would seem, the President allowed our troops to come in.

4th wealthiest nation in Africa....

They let our troops land there in case, DR Congo breaks down but this guy looks like a strongman to me.

... the last known location of his [Amb Joe Wilson of Plame Name Game /Scooter Libby Affair / Niger yellowcke flap] second wife Jacqueline was in Gabon under the employ of the President Omar Bongo’s daughter, Pascaline Mferri Bongo. Between August and November 2000, she was paid $60,000 to write letters to the office of National AIDS policy at the White House. That’s quite a lot of money for simply writing a few letters. She’s reported to have worked for them at least through November of 2000 and is currently whereabouts unknown. I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Joseph Wilson IV was the US Ambassador to Gabon from 1992 to 1995...........
