My little rural KS burg has music class in the elementary school but the band class in high school got cancelled 6 or 8 years back. If you aint chasing a ball around nobody cares. Pianos and organs all over the classifieds. Very few are learning music or how to play an instrument.

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that care workers knew she was pregnant early on and hoped she'd simply miscarry so they could sweep the whole matter under the rug.
