To play devils advocate though; President Trump hasn't been the poster boy for decorum either. Sometimes things like this escalates. The President can take a new tact by pulling on the belittling reins a bit. His call. His choice. Just sayin'. Now that I think about it; he has been more "Presidential" lately so maybe he already made that choice.
I support him either way.
