...Some of Sasses hostility to Trump stems from policy differencesespecially on trade, where the senator seems to be an open-markets absolutist, Chinese mercantilism and technology piracy be damned. But it is Trump himself who primes the needle on Sasses delicately calibrated sense of virtuous nuance. In a seemingly endless succession of media interviews he has denounced the President as creepy, a megalomaniac strongman, and lacking in core principles.
Sasse put his exquisitely agonized soul on its most vivid display this fall during the protracted hearings on Brett Kavanaughs nomination to the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh and Sasse are in fact near-clones, sharing boyish, blue-eyed good looks, fervent Christian faith (Catholicism for Kavanaugh, evangelical Protestantism for Sasse), youthful athletic prowess (basketball for Kavanaugh, football and wrestling for Sasse), Ivy League educations (Yale and Yale Law School for Kavanaugh, Harvard and a Yale Ph.D. in history for Sasse), Bush administration resumés, and a wholesome family life (Kavanaugh has two young daughters; Sasse, two daughters and a son). But Sasse, sitting on the Senate Judiciary Committee, couldnt bring himself to utter any public statement of support for the embattled jurist whose hearings consisted largely of attacks by Democrats who, worried that Kavanaugh might vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade, aired uncorroborated and even outlandish allegations of supposed sexual misconduct on his part as a teenager and college student.

President Trump needs to recruit Gov. Pete Ricketts to take down Sasse the Schizo Ass.
Having been a Husker myself for a few years, I can see the tension between state interests and national interests. It’s hard to blame Sasse for being opportunist on behalf of Nebraska qua Nebraska if Federal policy is weak.
I am not confident that Sasse truly represents the people of Nebraska and their goals and wishes.
He is a bit of a grandstander, and seems to like the attention when he can get MSM time to dis POTUS. Just my thoughts.
Anyway, I hope no one buys his book.
I didn't like her choice of the word bumptious to describe President Trump though.
bumptious - self-assertive or proud to an irritating degree.
That's the trait I like him for, because it is needed.
The problem here is that it turns national debate into a “bumptiousness” contest, and away from reason. If we asked the Donks to come up with some Mr. and Mrs. Bumptiousness, I’m sure they could accommodate.
Never Trumpers are a dying species.
What an ass.
Perhaps I am missing something in translation, as I really can't make out what you said, particularly with regards to the highlighted part below:
Its hard to blame Sasse for being opportunist on behalf of Nebraska qua Nebraska if Federal policy is weak.
Sasse is a Bush League Republican.
ALL of them need to be replaced if we want to keep our country.
