Pakistan was our enemy then and is our enemy now.
The only reason they even pretended to get along with us was that we were fully prepared to nuke them after 9/11 if they didn’t, and they knew the world would not disapprove.

Defense Secretary James N. Mattis said Monday Pakistan must take on a substantive role in peace talks with the Taliban if the war in neighboring Afghanistan is to be ended. For many years I blasted the dumb Israeli Jews for thinking they could talk their way into a peaceful settlement with the Muslims.
Now I see us drifting into the same approach to the Taliban (Muslims) - Tom
