We need to stand with Ukraine, not only for moral and national security reasons, but for political ones as well.

FALSE FLAG! Ukraine and NATO special forces were attempting to nuke the bridge over the Kerch Strait.

MSM and liberals scream that Trump is a hothead and will be a warmonger and will get us embroiled in a war no one wants!!!

So he isn’t a hothead, not a warmonger, and is practical when dealing with foreign affairs. And they’re pissed? He can’t win with these guys. Let’s not rush into war, we have enough problems to fix at home.

The Left never a lover of military action over the last 18 years, is now a fan of military action.

Sadly, the Left for the last 70 years, hasn’t had clue one when to use our military.

Trump is trying to use diplomatic action. That’s what he should do.

The Russian / Ukraine issue is a messy one. Russia took Crimea by force, but there re pseudo Conservatives who think that was entirely justified.

No use trying to engage on an issue where folks side with international agression over reason.

The seized craft in question are two gun boats and a tug captured while attempting to cross under the land link bridge which was blocked by a Russian oil tanker. Russia constructed this link after taking the Crimean peninsula which connects it to Russia via this causeway on the Azov sea

“We need to stand with Ukraine, not only for moral and national security reasons, but for political ones as well.”

Really?
Did you ever consider a guy like Trump might actually wield a bigger sword internationally if he didn’t have ankle biters at home like:
Democrats
Media (95%)
Academia
And almost ALL establishment Republicans ?

OUR house is on fire now, in case you haven’t noticed.

It’s an ongoing dispute. Unlikely that Trump can do very much to resolve it.

It is none of our business. Let the other nations in the region deal with it.

Nonsense......nobody has the facts yet only the he said he said.....Russia has their story and Ukraine has theres. But this should not be surprising since Poroshenko said he’d blow up the bridge.....

Trump didn’t blink, as the article reads. He’s smart enough to know both Russia and Ukraine have been at it for years now and he’ll make whatever decision he thinks about this once the facts are known.....and it won’t be based on just this event.

Intervention is a red herring on the pro-Ukraine side. That's countered with a red herring on the pro-Russia side which is "isolationism". The MSM argument is that we must be interventionist or isolationist and whichever Trump chooses is wrong.

The fact is we can stand with Russia and with Ukraine, simultaneously. The tiny strait with the Russian bridge is now Russian territory, but the Azov Sea belongs to both. The passageway needs to be opened to all traffic bound to and from Ukrainian ports. Cannot be blocked. If Ukraine wants to send gunboats through it they will have to comply with international law:

1. Ships and aircraft, while exercising the right of transit passage, shall:
(a) proceed without delay through or over the strait;
(b) refrain from any threat or use of force against the sovereignty, territorial integrity or political independence of States bordering the strait, or in any other manner in violation of the principles of international law embodied in the Charter of the United Nations;
(c) refrain from any activities other than those incident to their normal modes of continuous and expeditious transit unless rendered necessary by force majeure or by distress;
(d) comply with other relevant provisions of this Part.

Russia over the weekend mounted its most serious aggression against Ukraine since President Trump took office...

It was Ukraine that started this fiasco. Probably to prop up their failing dictator. Martial law now. Next cancel elections. We’ve seen this before.

It is not within our sphere of interest. The Ukraine apparently violated an agreement about naval activities within that Strait.

Trump is right, let the Europeans straighten it out.
