No Bueno: Mexican Officials Deny 'Remain in Mexico' Caravan Agreement Has Been Met
Townhall.com ^ | November 25, 2018 | Timothy Meads

Is this another case of fake news or is the incoming left-wing populist government simply trying to play hardball with Señor Trump?

Hours after the Washington Post reported that a supposed deal had been met to keep the Central American migrant caravan in Mexico as the United States sorts through asylum applications, Mexico's incoming foreign minister denied that any agreement had been reached and that conversations are still continuing.

According to the BBC, "Marcelo Ebrard denied reaching an agreement which would see asylum seekers waiting in Mexico while their claims were processed in US courts." Likewise, the man who will serve in president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's administration  "said the US had yet to even send "a specific proposal" on how to deal with the issue."

ABC News reports that  Interior Minister Olga Sanchez Cordero also released a statement saying, "There is no agreement of any sort between the incoming Mexican government and the U.S. government."

"The next federal administration does not consider in its plans that Mexico assumes the status of 'third safe country' for the attention of Central American migrants or citizens of other countries that are in Mexican territory, nor for those who have that intention in the future," Cordero added.

As for the White House, President Trump doubled down via Twitter Saturday night that any migrant who seeks asylum in the United States will have to go through the legal manner and "will not be allowed into the United States until their claims are individually approved in court."

"President Trump has developed a strong relationship with the incoming Obrador Administration, and we look forward to working with them on a wide range of issues," White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley told media.

Is Mexico’s Foreign Minister saying that Mexico is unsafe for migrants? Perhaps it isn’t safe for American Tourists...

As one article stated, Trump has all the high cards in this poker game. Close the border and keep it closed until the Mexican government agrees. The pressure on them will be huge. Another thing to do is stop all remittances. Those are a huge part of their economy.

Simply don’t allow them in. Mexico can do with them whatever floats their boat.

How can we be sure this isn’t a shakedown by the Mexican government?

No Bueno? Well Mexico, had better make a cooperative deal or a lot of the $hit they’re selling here will rot on their side of the border. Ford and GM are going to have a fit not being able to bring in vehicles they are assembling in Monterrey, Mexico for openers. Those vehicles represent good paying jobs for Mexicans. It’s time to put the same kind of pressure on Mexico to become a responsible country as it has been with China.

Close the entire border and keep it closed as long as necessary . It should remain closed until we see live video of the last Centro getting in a bus or plane that is taking back their home countries . Not one damn Centro should be allowed to enter . Not a one . ZERO asylum . Screw ‘the law’ .

“Is Mexico’s Foreign Minister saying that Mexico is unsafe for migrants? Perhaps it isn’t safe for American Tourists...”

Mexicans are just a pack of grifters! The mayor of Guanajuato was pi$$ing and moaning earlier this week that American tourists were not spending enough dinero in his $hithole little town. I was in Tijuana about 15 years ago for the day on business. I used to go to Ensenada as a child 60 years ago. I have no desire to even put my little toe into that dump of a county, let alone spend a penny there.

That's ok, SHUT DOWN THE W H O L E SOUTHERN BORDER until Mexico AGREES, and PERMANENTLY deals with the hordes of CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS within THEIR COUNTRY.

Let them squeal, cry and moan all they want until they do. Their economy will collapse within a month. By then the Mexican government will be BEGGING President Trump TO LET THEM PAY FOR THE WALL.

Doesn't make a lot of sense if true - the civil unrest in Mexico will continue to escalate and the new presidente will lose face right off the bat for not handling it. No upside for the Mehicanos if they don't get busy taking care of it.

Look at that photo. Filthy useless needy mouths trying to hit US up for all the goodies they never had in their own country. Is this what you want walking around among us, among your kids in school? They probably don't even have vaccines for half the nasty stuff this human trash would bring into our country. There are kids all over the country, directly thanks to Odungo, may he pass from this earth as soon as G-d can arrange it, who brought the paralytic disease a bunch of U.S. kids are suffering from now, enterovirus D68. And they have a host of other conditions, from worms to AIDs that we don't need.

Moreover, as their carrying their own countries' flags clearly shows, they would have NO allegiance to the U.S., just their greedy lazy hands out for what is not coming to them. Welfare, food stamps, free medical care (but not for our vets), free legal aid, free education---for what? So they can be in contempt of los gringos? So they can, even after receiving this unbelievably generous stuff, refer to "my country" when speaking of their home? I heard this over and over again while teaching in NYC public high schools. They never referred to the U.S. as their country. No...it was some hellhole far from here which made their eyes light up while discussing. Suggestion: leave MY country and go the hell back home to your fly ridden garbage dump country, since you don't seem to have any allegiance or gratitude to MY country.

***************************************

Whatever in God’s name made you think Mexico is safe for American Tourists? It is a stupid assumption and very likely to get you killed especially in the areas of the cartels...and tell me truly, where is that, exactly?

I did not say that it was. I was pointing out that the Foreign Minister thinks that Mexico isn’t safe for “migrants”, so perhaps it is not “safe” for US tourism cash. Money talks.
