Actually I agree, And Trump should be able to just keep him out. But there are some technical issues because of where they are being held along with the 1st amendment press freedoms. It doesn’t belong to Trump, it’s not private property. It belongs to the citizens and Acosta is also a citizen and protected by the 1st.

So technically we are letting Trump use it, not the other way around. The only reason it is filtered to press only is for both security reasons and if not he would have to hold these in a ball stadium because so many would show up. In reality every citizen has the right to go to these pass or not.

But with common sense in understanding these security and venue number limitation issues we accept this filtering as needed because without it we would get nothing, They wouldn’t happen at all. It would take too many security resources to prepare for each one of these if everyone decided to go so they just would not happen.

So the problem here is while a pass can be revoked for true “security” reasons, it can’t really be revoked for “Acosta is a disrespectful ass” reasons. The only legal option is for Trump to have these or not have these, show up or not show up, all or none. And he has the right to not call on Acosta or answer any of his questions during.

We have to be careful what we ask for here... Trump is not going to be President forever. The next President might be a liberal dictator who will use this very same precedent if allowed to lock out press representatives WE want to be there. It cannot be selective at will without VERY good justification.

So to protect our own future interests and press access, this was probably a good call. We sometimes do not look far enough down the road to see the end result and ramifications of what we want in the right now. And personally, political loyalties aside, I think allowing any President to start being selective with these will be a huge mistake in the long run.

So the White House “journalists” need rules of conduct sorta like they do in kindergarten?

I would have litigated to the end...

This in and of itself is far more than enough “reason.”
