How about this for a reform?:

Elections supervised by representatives of BOTH major parties.
Ballot boxes sealed as they are filled until polls close, each box sealed with tamper-evident tape, signed by one representative of each major party, numbered, and electronically tracked. Box code numbers reported as they are filled with no new box numbers accepted after close of the polls.

Total number of boxes and their code numbers reported at poll closing, say within 60 minutes?

Do we at least get more honest with that?

Dana is / was my Congress Critter.

I read that Rouda’s Campaign spent eight times as much money as Dana did. The only Commercials I saw for Dana were from PAC’s, not his Campaign.

Dana’s Signs were being stolen as soon as they were put up. Rouda Signs were put up on every empty space where I live.

Dana was an old style Republican Libertarian. Talked to him a few weeks ago at a neighborhood gathering. Nice guy but his stump Speech harkened back to the days of Ronald Reagan and the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan. I watched the crowd of my fellow “supporters” as their Eyes were glazing over.

It was a little sad, especially when people there were asking questions that the City Council should be asked, not the local Congressman. So much for Coastal Orange County being Conservative. It went for Hillary in 2016, so that there told you all you needed to know.

We’re out of here as soon as the House sells. I don’t even know this place anymore.

It’s only News if the Ballots were in the Trunk of a Car linked to a Republican.

The media is refusing reporters entry into the area.

On what authority can the "media" do anything like that?

***Dana was an old style Republican Libertarian ... his stump Speech harkened back to the days of Ronald Reagan and the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan***

I know what you are saying. I wrote Ron DeSantis [Fla Gov's race] a few weeks ago and asked where in the world was his campaign? Some PACs were advertising for him, but his own campaign rebutting opposition charges was crickets. He did come alive just before the election, but early voting was already heavy. That may explain why his election victory is so slim here in Fla.

I really identify, but it appears to be becoming a nationwide problem - possibly due to massive illegal voting and vote fraud. You mention Orange County; wasn't 'B-1' Bob Dornan also representing some of that area? ...swept away by Loretta Sanchez via Mexicano Hermandad busing ?some people?. GOP challenged the election for a while, but gave it up eventually.

The Arizona Senate race is just as astounding; God only knows what will become of us.

My comment was about the media excluding reporters. A Freudian slip!

So if Democrats win, they get a do-over? That’s a sweet deal.

“So if you had 5,000 provisional ballots come up and this ‘board’ has to reach some conclusion....wouldn’t this take at least a year to validate each and every ballot?”

I have never observed a canvassing board meeting so I can’t tell you first hand how it works in practice. I don’t think there are any restrictions on how many staff can provide backup information (signatures on record, addresses of provisional voters) to the principals.

If the board processed one provisional ballots per minute, it would take 83.3 work hours to process 5,000 ballots.

The principals on the canvassing board can have alternates but the alternates can’t be just “some clerk.”

Up thread you said “call it null and void and have another election.”

That’s still a win to them.
