Tuesday night on MSNBC’s midterm election coverage, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said now that Democrats control the House of Representatives, President Donald Trump will not be able to tear down of the independence of the Justice Department.
Schiff said, “The chances that Bob Mueller will be able to finish his work improved for the reason that our committee and others, like the government reform committee and the judiciary committee, which under Republican leadership served as basically surrogates for the president in their efforts to batter down the Justice Department, to give the president a pretext to fire people at the Justice Department, all of that tearing down of the independence of these these intuitions, is going to end. Now that doesn’t mean that the president can’t still act in ways that are antithetical to the rule of law and the interest of justice, but it does mean we’re better able to protect our institutions and see this investigation, I hope, complete.”

Which means that Trump should get a good AG and any other confirmations at DOJ and FBI that he needs. Trump also knows that the SC, appeals and circuit court nominees will get through a lot faster.
Which also means that DOJ can be turned against the Dems for various legitimate treason related investigations.

Just what is the speaker of the house going to do? Without the Senate any legislative scheems of the Dims are kaput and Trump can do as Obama did and just sit on subpoenas from Nancy.
Mr Schiff is very happy with himself; not sure why. Mr Trump can now excuse Mr Sessions and appoint a game-changer as AG.

I hope you’re right. But Washington is a very corrupt place. (Trust me, I’ve worked in the Swamp.) Trump will have to bring in a very strong Attorney General to turn things around. Even then, it will only be a transitory improvement.
Schiff forgets that, it only takes 2 years to overturn the election results and give control to the republicans again. All democrats in the house have to do, is to go after Trump and republicans with all kinds of investigations and forget about legislation, and VOILA!, republicans control the house again.

The House has no power as long as the Senate and President hold firm. If they want to spin in tiny circles for the next two years, fine.
There is no reason whatsoever to allow Sessions and Rosenweasel to continue to subvert justice. The majority of Trump’s problems stem from allowing HIS DOJ to coordinate and execute an assassination attempt upon his presidency. What could possibly be the downside of cleaning out that rats nest. No legislation can be passed for two years. Trump will continue to remake the Judiciary regardless of how loud the Mob screams about DJT’s whatever night massacre. Do it!
If President Trump doesn’t immediately clean house at Justice, it will be the single biggest mistake of his Presidency.

Nunes and House Republicans need to go into a full court press to wrap up their good work and move cases to the DOJ, DHS and FBI to obtain indictments and/or grand jury investigations underway before they are closed down bu Schiff.
Here is what the President tweeted this morning: “If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!” The President now can release all of the redacted emails..we will see how many implicate Schiff.
