The anti-Semitic truck driver accused of gunning down 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue pleaded not guilty on Thursday to federal charges that could put him on death row.
Robert Bowers, 46, was arraigned one day after a grand jury issued a 44-count indictment that charges him with murder, hate crimes, obstructing the practice of religion and other crimes. It was his second brief appearance in a federal courtroom since the weekend massacre at Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
“Yes!” Bowers said in a loud voice when asked if he understood the charges.
Authorities say Bowers raged against Jews during and after the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in American history. …

It is probably irrelevant but I can’t help but wonder...this guy apparently killed 11 people in a couple minutes and then stopped. I can’t help but wonder if he was horrified at what he had done when he had to face the result in real life up close.
He stopped after being shot several times.
I heard he was leaving when the patrol cops arrived and engaged him.
America has no such law and our courts should have for an act this heinous.

You’re right it’s not relevant...decades of his own inner rage does not go away...He met his targeted goal to kill people. The only thing he’ll be horrified about is when he realizes prison is well beyond what he imagined.
Especially in what could be a high profile case. Cha ching cha ching regardless of the outcome.

That’s always the “rationalization” to kill any Jew and as many as one can find.
The longer you can string out the process the higher the likelihood that some technicality will occur that will allow your client to escape execution. It’s a percentage play.
Yeah, right. Anything on TV is to be believed. The guy shot four policemen, so I guess his sense of horror at what he had done dissipated quickly.
In an Old Testament world, a kidon could arrange to get arrested and jailed with Bowers.
