VOTERS AREN’T BUYING CRAZED ATTACKS ON TRUMP
Powerline ^ | October 31, 2018 | John Hinderaker

Posted on 10/31/2018 12:15:59 PM PDT by Hojczyk

The Democrats are hoping that the mad would-be bomber, Cesar Sayoc, and the vicious anti-Semite and Trump hater Robert Bowers will stem the rising GOP tide in the midterm elections. Toward that end, they have absurdly tried to blame President Trump for the actions of these miscreants, one verging on the comic and one horrifically murderous. To try to cast President Trump as a fomenter of anti-Semitism, when he has a Jewish son-in-law who is a close adviser, a daughter who converted to Judaism and Jewish grandchildren, and is one of our mosts pro-Israel presidents, is an uphill battle to say the least. But the Democrats are taking a shot at it.

It doesn’t seem to be working. The Rasmussen survey, which currently conducts the only rolling daily presidential approval poll, finds Trump’s standing with likely voters unaffected. His approval/disapproval numbers currently stand at 49%/50%, consistent with pre-Sayoc and Bowers numbers.

I infer that while most journalists may be so crazed with Trump-hatred that they are willing to blame the president for anything, most voters aren’t.

Cringing assessments of how bad this is hurting the GOP with suburban women are way overblown.

When you’re pressing buttons, punching holes, or filling ovals for a local mayor or the congressional representative, you’re not thinking about what Rachel Maddow was ranting about last week.

After a two-year drumbeat of pure hatred, people get pretty tired of the drummer and ignore the beat.

My experience has been that those who already bought the BS on Trump are sucking it up, unsurprisingly. But they don’t seem to be adding to their numbers.

I don’t think the DEMs are trying to add to their numbers. They seem to be more interested in getting some GOP and many independent voters to become frustrated with politics and get them to not vote.

THE MEANING OF THE KEY PHRASE IN THE 14th AMENDMENT
President Trump is SPOT-ON. He CAN halt BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP with an Executive Order. It WILL NOT require amending the Constitution!
PLEASE SHARE this information. We’d better halt the ignorance out there BEFORE the left DESTROYS AMERICA!
The INTENT of the drafters and the MEANING of those key words “...and subject to the jurisdiction thereof...” is crystal clear!
From the debate notes surrounding the enactment of the 14th Amendment at this site:https://www.numbersusa.com/content/learn/ethics-population-and-immigration/fourteenth-amendment-debate.html

“The jurisdiction requirement was added to the original draft of the Fourteenth Amendment by the Senate after a lengthy and acrimonious debate. In fact, Senator Jacob Merritt Howard of Michigan proposed the addition of the phrase specifically because he wanted to make clear that the simple accident of birth in the United States was not sufficient to justify citizenship. Sen. Howard noted that the jurisdiction requirement is “simply declaratory of what I regard as the law of the land already.” Sen. Howard said that “this will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.”

I have a cousin with a rare blood disorder. You usually don’t live past 40 (used to die as a kid before treatment came about) and usually can’t have kids.

A Jewish kid fell in love with her and married her knowing all this.

She’s Italian. Roman Catholic. As is the whole clan :)

She’s in her 40s now and they did have a child who is thriving.

I asked him once more than 20 years ago “You never thought twice about the fact that it could be a devastatingly hard life for you and that you likely won’t have kids?”

He said “I love her”

Crazy kid. With a heart of gold.

Still get a kick seeing her married last name on invitations and holiday cards :)

First extended family without a vowel at the end of the name!! :)

I live in the suburbs and I don’t know any women who were swayed toward the Dems by Kavanaugh... They all saw right through it.. and frankly are pissed at the Democrats for it. They know their actions harmed real victims of assault...

This suburban women willl give D’s the win is a narrative, not based in reality

We both know that but there are some here that wring their hands over it.

Yes, there is certainly that. But I'm not seeing that either here in the election-season trenches.

Our side is as resolved as theirs -- maybe more so. They claim that independents are moving towards the left, but from what I have seen that's wishful thinking.

In any case, it's not over 'til it's over.

I should have known who it was :)

I actually am not familiar with enough Japanese names to know if most first and/or last names end in a vowel.

I am pretty sure the last names do.

I know a lot of the foods do :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This applied to ALL children of ALL foreigners until Wong Kim Ark in 1898.
The Supreme Court decided to stretch the 14th to cover the children of legal residents.
They did confer citizenship to the children of illegal aliens.
There is no way that the children of foreigners could ever be considered natural born citizens.
Still say with everyone else on the other side ignoring the HATCH act, Drudge leak today about the probable indictment of the President, and all the other things, we should have already seen those pages that have been withheld and been redacted to the fullest before the elections and Q shouldn’t have stopped the support they were providing at the most critical time!
This midterm isn’t in the bag and cheating is going for sure! the house is not in the bag! and if it is lost, everything changes, too much at stake for us to have not known the truth BEFORE this election about the corrupt sedition that took place - bad planning and management somewhere!
Suppose there were and are as many repubs behind it as there were dems and more. Those deep staters have not yet lost - unfortunately. I pray I am wrong!
The attacks have been so over-over-over the top, nobody would believe them.
There are plenty of opportunities for reasoned and rational criticism of any President, but the Dems have let their Trump Derangement drive them so far off the deep end, people have stopped listening.
I have long believed that this election will be a wave election. It will either be deep blue or deep red. People went way out on a limb to elect
Trump. He was politically unproven and we took a big chance. For two years Trump has made his voters feel like biblical prophets for electing him.
Also, many on the fence or opposed to Trump have seen the positive effects and feel reassured. If Trump had fallen on his face all these voters would not be going to the polls and not backing Trump. Therefore I am of the opinion that this will be a deep red crimson election.
Democrat/media have been touting this blue wave for two years and it has never materialized. the resistance movement has been there since day one. They have had two years to make their case. They have convinced no one. The left and the dems know this in their gut, hence the crazy October behavior. They have pushed the panic button and have further destroyed their chances. I would be very surprise if republicans don’t do much better than most of us expect.
So the guy sending “potentially explosive devices”: has there been anything out suggesting they were intended to actually explode? I’ve been busy the last few days.
