Comedian and Daily Show legend Jon Stewart pointed out a chink in a journalists’ armor against President Donald Trump’s anti-media rhetoric: He has exploited the media’s “own narcissism,” forcing them to “change the conversation” to focus on what he wants to talk about.
Stewart began his point by noting that corporate media outlets have focused so much on the Trump phenomenon because “you gotta’ make money to. You got bills to pay, man, you got electric bills, you got food.”
CNN International host Christiane Amanpour, who was interviewing Stewart along with fellow star comedian Dave Chappelle, pushed back on that statement and said that journalists have a different motivation.
“I think that journalists have taken it personally, they are personally wounded and offended by this man. He baits them, and they dive in,” Stewart replied. “What he’s done well, I thought, is appeal to their own narcissism, to their own ego, because when he [attacks the media], they say, we are noble, we are honorable, how dare you, sir! And they take it personally.”
He continued by explaining why this hurts the news cycle: “Now, he’s changed the conversation to not that his policies are silly or not working or any of those other things, it’s all about the fight and he’s able to tune out everything else and get people just focused on the fight, and he’s going to win that fight.”
Stewart is no legend but, in this particular instance, he’s right. Trump continues to set the media’s agenda and they just can’t help but plunge right into the briar patch.

He hasn’t just done it to the media but the left as a whole.
The left is extremely narcissistic collectively.
He shredded their alinsky playbook and used their own tactics-very skillfully-against them and had great success doing so.
I believe that chaps their collective hides more than anything.
And it’s working! What do people find about peace and prosperity to be so objectionable.

Funny how that works, huh? We're too stupid to form the "correct" opinion without "help," but it IS important that we form that correct opinion.
Trump was able to get the focus off the Faux Bomber and the Pittsburgh shooting and back on the migrant horde by simply stating that he was going to try to stop birthright citizenship via Executive Order.
I duuno if the President has the ability, but just the statement alone was able to force the media to change their narrative.
Stewart isn’t stupid, after 2 years in office the left can’t control or marginalize this President and it drives them nuts but they know how he is doing it.
They just cannot counter him.
Shows just how shallow these people are. Trump calls ‘Fake News’ the enemy. Who, in their right mind, would argue that? The ‘media’ wants victimhood status to tout to the ‘downtrodden’ audience they’ve created.

Stewart is no legend, but he is what happens when you have an innate intelligence but are educated with critical theory instead of critical thinking.
Jon Stewart has moments of pure insight - - then he mixes that insight with fearlessness of saying anything to anyone...
Here he tells a journalist that journalists are being played for fools by Trump... then to add insult to injury he explains how it’s done and why it works.
There is nothing the media can do to resist Trump. Many have called for the media to ignore his rallies. They will do that at their peril. As soon as Trump sees the enemedia is missing, he will make an important policy announcement and then take questions, all that opportunity the enemedia will have missed. Then, he will not entertain the questions from the missing so-called journalists.
