October 27, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) This is extremely urgent. I need to inform you that LifeSite just received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST from our web-hosting company alerting us that they will be taking our website down within 12 hours, if not sooner!
They wrote: we are implementing our SUSPENSION OF SERVICES clause...and giving you 12 hours notice to move your web site operations off of our servers..."
We received absolutely no forewarning whatsoever about this decision.
The company is acting after a months-long campaign of preposterous complaints against us by Adam Flanders. Flanders is a convicted sex abuser and homosexual activist who is angered over our reports exposing him and his past. As LifeSite recently reported, he has already succeeded in taking down other pro-family websites by targeting their server companies.
Flanders latest complaint is focused on the absurd allegation that LifeSite has been implicated in a violent hate crime against a gay man and Catholic church, and that we instigated property damage and a physical assault.
Our web developer is scrambling right now to set up a possibly-needed temporary solution to keep the website live. However, were going to have to go through the ordeal and expense of moving server companies. We also intend to fight these attacks, which will carry significant legal costs.
LifeSite is committed to continue reporting on Flanders and the entire anti-freedom homosexualist lobby.
Please donate now to help us fight this attack on free speech.
We also urge you to pray this issue is resolved quickly and smoothly.

It’s easy for people to forget:
Not that long ago these tactics were unheard of. There was a little tweaking in Google, but they usually backed off when confronted. People expected fairness in social media hubs. They’re being blindsided — right before an election.

Right. Blindsided unexpectedly.
They keep up these dirty tactic and don’t be surprised if the minority party ends up stripped of all committee seats.
And we can amend the constitution to excoriate dirty tricks like this outside the legal process.
If they play hardball we can too.
This is life or death... They are going to strangle us to death and there are no police to call and prevent it. “you have reached a number that is no longer in service”.
Would we support having absolutely no laws or law enforcement protection just to keep the government completely out of it?
I think we’re heading into a USSR the sequel.
How can such things as an Amendment even be organized if communication is forbidden or restricted to snail mail which itself can be cut off as can the airwaves? Politicians still control the FCC and USPS and they won’t always be our politicians and may not be even now.
If we still had net neutrality, I think the web hosting companies would still be able to kick you off, but the carriers could not refuse to connect you. Now they can pressure ATT or TWC to not even give you a line. It was a mistake being against net neutrality.
CHICAGO, ILThe entire website for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) was shut down for more than two weeks beginning August 24 after a convicted homosexual sex offender, Adam Flanders, threatened a lawsuit against FirstLight Fiber, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for AFTAHs web host companyclaiming his mugshot photo from a 2006 assault arrest against a minor boy was copyrighted material.
Adam Flanders: the Brett Kimberlin of the LGBT movement.
One person should not have so much power through the courts to control what others do and say.
This just infuriates me.
Time to pray this guy into ineffectiveness.
Can Lifesite retaliate by using for breach of contract?
If the leftist tech Nazis, lawyers and socialist scum get their way, anything conservative or in the way of liberal agenda will be thrown into the high tech “book burning” ,Soviet style society and Orwellian hell.
Absolutely... This is the biggest threat coming next. Since we are all completely powerless to defend ourselves against one sided abuse, at least equal undeniable telecommunication and ISP “access” was a huge advantage in everyone’s favor.
We handed carriers like AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Etc. the right to selectively allow private server access like the FR to the internet, or user access to certain domains as they choose.
The FR would be safe if it had not been repealed because at least telecommunications could not discriminate and deny access. Now they can... And this is the next step coming.
How about a contact link to the server’s management ? Instead we get a donate link.
Everybody here should become a monthly donor. $0.50 or $1.00 a day. No more than a newspaper, but so much more.
That is why an amdendment is needed fairly soon — just in case the dems ever take over completely. Right now they can only do certain things.
Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS would move heaven and earth to get/keep any site that’s legal.
They aren’t the cheapest game in town, but scale from tiny to huge sites. Pay for what you need.
They will not censor for political reasons because they are pouring money into building their hosting businesses.
Say what you will about them, but I defy anyone to name an instance where they booted a hosting customer that was running a legal site.
>> However, were going to have to go through the ordeal and expense of moving server companies. <<
Download files and database. Upload to new server/hosting. Re-aim the domain nameservers. They should already have backups downloaded on a regular basis.
Half a day’s work and wait 24-72 hours for the nameservers to propagate.
If both servers run cpanel, do a complete cpanel download and it’s even easier. The new hosting company will usually do that for free.
And here it was just yesterday I was saying people needed to defend Gab because if they go down, that’s not where this ends.
> It was a mistake being against net neutrality.
Not even slightly. Things would have been 1000x worse under a net neutrality regime with a Democrat calling the shots. Just look at how they handled the IRS, FBI, DoJ, and so on.
